For as long as he had been working under the mayor, Lycaon had this feeling that he couldn't quite tame within himself. He learned to reign in his temper, finely control his movements, and even keep his instincts at bay, yet there was this one feeling he could never quite settle. It made him a little more cautious, a little more possessive, like the things he had might get stolen away if he let up his guard. It kept his senses sharp, but he could never find it in himself to fully relax, like he didn't know when this invisible enemy might strike.
