Summary
"Well, when your ex-husband rings you out of the blue and tells you he’s moving back to Kansas in approximately three weeks time, you have two options.....or two: you can decide that the tone in his voice is slightly too maudlin to be ignored, get on a plane to make sure he’s not serious, and talk him out of it if he is.”
Ted gapes at her.
“I picked option two.” She shrugs, like it’s nothing, like plane tickets don’t cost the earth and like Henry didn’t have an entire week of school left. Like dropping everything to fly halfway across the world to ‘talk someone out of’ their own plan is a normal thing to do.
(or: the 3x12 'michelle and henry can get on a plane too' fix-it fic that was jumping around in my head before i'd even finished watching the final episode)

Summary
Ted Lasso's love language is: all of them. (or, 5 times Ted shows Trent he loves him.)
Trent smiles over at him, a slow, gentle smile and his fingers drift down Ted’s arm before winding between Ted’s own. There’s more that he could say, much more, but for now he’s content to let the quiet settle over them like a blanket and trust that Trent knows what he means.

Summary
Trent paused, thumb hovering indecisively for a second before tapping it, letting the photo fill his screen. Ted’s posture was absolutely terrible, hands scrunched up and shoved carelessly in his trouser pockets but Trent couldn’t help but admit that Ted Lasso scrubbed up well.

Summary
“Ted,” Trent pauses, suddenly unsure of the best way to phrase the question. He doesn’t want to offend him, or Mae if she’s listening. “Is this really the most relaxing place for you to stay?”
As if to prove his point the Richmond Trio (and really, Trent should find out their names at some point) come bounding into the pub, a small crowd following them. The noise level in the room, previously a relatively hushed Sunday afternoon buzz, instantly rises by several decibels. Ted sighs and Trent turns his attention back to him, eyebrow raised pointedly.
Ted smiles sheepishly. “I guess it gets a little loud in here some days.”
*
When Trent finds out that Ted is staying above the Crown and Anchor while his flat is having work done he offers Ted his spare room without hesitating, only to (finally) realise that his 'interest' in the football coach is the furthest thing from platonic.
*
Wistful looks, interfering friends and a lot of tentative flirting between two idiots.

Summary
Buck doesn’t think that if he were to say, “I’m in a bad place”, that anyone would turn him away. Really, he doesn’t. The 118 has too many good, kind people for that.
But every time he wants to open his mouth, to say something, to reach out to Eddie or Bobby or Hen or Chim, he hears Eddie yelling, “you’re exhausting.”
—you’re exhausting, you’re exhausting, you’re exhausting—
So each day he does his job and he laughs and he jokes and he pretends he’s the care-free goofball he’s always been. And each day he packs away his bruises and his worries, takes them home to his empty loft with its quiet rooms, and licks his wounds in silence.

Summary
“It’s just that—I died,” Buck continues, voice unsteady enough that Eddie wonders if this is the first time he’s acknowledged that out loud. “I died, and there’s so much more. There’s so much more I want to do, things I don’t even know I want to do yet, and I almost had the chance to have and live them taken away. I don’t want to die and regret missing out on everything else, Eddie.”
“So let’s make a list,” Eddie says. “Let’s do them.”
or, a bucket list that’s really about buck needing to make a change and an eddie who’s ready to do anything to see him fall in love with life again. it takes some crossing off for eddie to realise—the thing at the top of the list in his own heart? it’s been right here all along

Summary
“I really won’t take it personally if you want someone else here,” Trent murmurs. “Not that I want to go, Ted, but—everyone told me to give you their best wishes. The only reason Coach Beard didn’t come with me is that Roy needed him around to finish up the day.”
“I’d like you to stay,” Ted tells him, which is so hard to say it makes him nauseous.
“Then I will.” Like it’s that easy. Ted sniffs again. He wipes at his face with the back of his hand and grimaces. Trent produces a packet of Kleenex from god knows where—and then, instead of handing it to Ted to clean his own damned face like an adult, he leans in and wipes at his cheeks and beneath his eyes, face twisted in concentration.
"Afraid I'm ruining all your efforts," Ted tells him as more tears stream down his face. He feels cracked open. "Shit, Trent. I'm sorry. I'm sure this wasn't what you were expecting."
"I can't say it was," Trent says, still dabbing at Ted's face with the patience and gentleness that comes only from having an emotional toddler, "but I'm glad I came either way. Now sit tight for a moment."
