Summary
If there is one thing that Vi is absolutely sure she cannot live without, it is the symphony of sounds her sister makes when she is getting fucked into her mattress as they harmonize with the wooden frame of their bunkbed while it creaks and moans and bumps against the wall in a series of dull, rhythmic thuds. She almost wishes she could record it all to press it onto a vinyl and finish it off with Powder’s perfectly rosy face as the cover art.

Summary
When Vi first moved back to Zaun after several failed attempts to make something of herself, she knew that she would need some time to readjust to things– the last time she had been here, she and her sister had still been on perfectly good terms, though that has not been the case ever since. In a way, she is grateful to not have any other family left to let down besides her sister; the younger woman has been good thus far about avoiding her completely, so even as she trudges back into their old haunting grounds, Vi finds that she doesn’t have to face anyone’s disappointment in her abject and repeated failures that drove her back to the same cracked, hole-ridden streets of her childhood.

Summary
Vi has been stuck doing nothing but paperwork for about a week now, and she is roughly five minutes from beating her face into a bloody pulp against the pristine, scratchless surface of her glossy black desk. She knows that she has to serve out her punishment, under the explicit orders of her pissed-off captain, but, even now, she can’t help but feel that the precinct is focusing on the wrong thing– sure, she punched the perp that she had been chasing a few too many times, but all of that was after he had shoved an old woman right into traffic in an attempt to shake her off of his back. That woman had nearly died, Vi just barely able to grab her arm with a bruising grip to pull her out of the way of an oncoming garbage truck that was failing to slow down, even as its brakes screeched and squealed, so she feels like maybe the guy had earned a few extra hard knocks to the noggin.

Summary
These days, Jinx can’t remember very much at all about the night her parents died, but the one thing she is fairly sure of is that it was raining– she can still hear the sound of the drops slapping against the window in the room she and Vi once shared, and she is almost positive that there had been thunder, too. Vi never really wanted to talk about that night, never wanted to confirm if the loud noises Jinx can still sort-of recall were thunder or just the gunshots of the home invasion that had taken their parents’ lives, so Jinx has never been able to figure out the difference between her actual memories and the gaps that had been filled by her own childish imagination.

She could hear Cait laughing and chatting excitedly from the next room. They were about to get married, after all. It was supposed to be the happiest day of their lives. The day where they would vow to stay together and to respect each other for the rest of their days.
Caitlyn was giddy, gushing to her mother about how happy she was...
And Vi was in the dressing room, bent over, suit pants down to her ankles as Jinx fingered her from behind.

Felicia made it clear that she didn’t care how Vi initiates the encounter, just as long as she gets what she wants out of it, which is this: Felicia wants to fuck Vi, then watch Vi fuck Powder, and then she wants to fuck both of them at the same time.
An absolutely reasonable expectation from a mother for her daughters.

Summary
If she doesn’t leave in the next 30 minutes, Vi will be late to practice again, and she can’t miss another practice so close to the championship game. She’s already missed two in a row—excused as a sickness or scheduling conflict, when the true cause has always been her mother’s fault, but she can't tell her teammates why, so she settles on a lie.

Sevika disappears, in her inexplicable way, and Vi’s fuzzy brain berates itself for not trying to fight her. Still on a lag, it’s several minutes after that when she realises what Sevika was implying. As if Powder—no.
As if Jinx will ever listen to Vi again. Vi, of all people.
-Vi picks her sister up from the psych ward and drives them as far away as two tanks of gas will take them.
