    Summary

He’d tried to handle it himself. Stole Pidge’s headphones, hummed out loud to himself; hell, he even left the bathroom sink running for some white noise. None of it worked. None of it was the same as the constant sound of someone breathing right next to you, the grumbles of their snores and strange mutterings of their sleep-talk. The very thing Lance hated with a passion turned out to be the one thing that actually helped his insomniac ass actually sleep. Mother nature, you trick-ass bitch. You have a personal problem.

Now, of course there was an easy solution to this. He shared the castle with six other people — one of them his Garrison roommate! Surely, he could bunk with someone else.

But… no one else seemed to have trouble sleeping. At least, not for the same reason as Lance. And as much as Lance liked to play the obnoxious role, as much as nothing was funnier than pushing just the right buttons to make someone else explode… he couldn’t be that much of a nuisance. It was too much.

So Lance got real used to being sleep deprived.

    Summary

He stomps down the hallway, ignoring an amused Shiro who says something along the lines of “Looking bright eyed this morning, Lance,” and keeping his eyes locked straight ahead.

He will get answers. And apologies. Many of them, in fact.

He pauses right before he enters the training room, messing around with the lockpad settings so he can override the automatic function like Coran showed him.

This feels like a door slam moment.

Once the manual opening has been enabled, he takes a breath, then kicks open the doors with a bang, startling Keith so hard he nearly gets brained by the gladiator.

“So I guess love is dead,” he says once Keith has called for the simulation to end, glaring daggers at the man in question.

Lance is absolutely, undeniably cute. That's just a universal fact. Keith knows it. Much to his suffering, everyone else knows it, too. Meanwhile, Lance doesn't have a clue.

    Summary

Keith breaks up with Lance, his boyfriend of three years, senior year. They meet again at their high school reunion ten years later, and Keith suggests something inconceivable.

    That they try again.

    But does Lance want to?

    ***

Keith could sense the preserved rage bubbling up inside his ex, he didn’t know whether to bolt or stay put. He tried a different tactic. “You look good-”

“Oh, can it, Mullet. You don’t need to butter me up. I knew you were back.” He held the butt of the cigarette between his fingertips, thinking about what to do with it.

Lance’s lip thinned into a dull line, staring past Keith forming a hard stare at the boring gray stall door. “See your hair hasn’t changed much, thought you wanted it longer. You know, what with wanting to become a musician and all…” He mocked, ripping the tight band aid stuck inside Keith's chest. Yeah, that hurt.

    Summary

“What did you say you were looking for, again?”

Keith closes his eyes and tips his head back, letting it thunk gently on the thin wall under the big window, in the corner of the apartment where they’ve shoved their bed. He lets his eyes go blurry, lets the stars they stuck on the ceiling before they did anything else turn into bright green dots. They’re real constellations. The two of them spent hours on them; Lance on Keith’s shoulders, tripping and shouting and laughing.

“I need tickets,” Keith says quietly. He turns his gaze slowly to Lance, who is sleeping soundly again, who has bags under his eyes, whose hands twitch every few seconds, who frowns deeply. “And we can’t — these are the only ones I could find. That I can even pretend to afford. I need it to be —” He swallows. “I need you to tell me they’re real.”

Pidge is quiet for a moment. The only sound is her breathing, her nail tapping slowly on the edge of her screen.

“The link is exactly what it says it is.”
