Summary
All Middle-earth celebrated the fall of the Dark Lord, and all peoples were free from the wicked Shadow of Angband. However, the consequences of the war were too devastating, and the losses countless. Not even the Valar could proclaim justice against Melkor's deeds. And a new horror arose in Arda.
Five centuries after the War of Wrath, the Elves began to forget the horrors of the war, believing that the Dark Lord and his followers would never return. As news of Orcs trekking across Middle-earth intensifies, the Elves realize that a new Shadow has risen, and he will not be alone, determined to avenge the legacy of the Dark Vala.

Summary
Manwë, King of the Valar and King of All Arda, can no longer endure the cruelties of his brother, Melkor. The Orcs have spread across Middle-earth, terrorizing Elves and Men. The Shadow of Melkor has grown, and his malice knows no end, or mercy. Manwë then begs Nienna, Lady of Sorrow, to persuade Melkor to give up his poisonous dream. For the history of Middle-earth has told of Melkor's wicked and evil deeds, and named him Morgoth. But the legends have not told of how the Dark Vala fell in love, from the Beginning of Time, with She Who Weeps.

Summary
When the siege ended and Gondolin finally fell, the few remaining survivors escaped the Dark Lord's mind. However, much escaped the Valar's knowledge when the Dark Lord's son and his most trusted lieutenant had to escape together to recover from the battle, and, perhaps understand what that unnamed feeling could mean.

King Beast, they called him, because when the kingdom of Angband fell, and a plague ravaged the land of Arda, the people said that the heir had fallen by a curse. Nothing but lies, this proved, when tales of a beast arose in the people. A beast, such as they could not have imagined, that would desire a woman, and would keep her for himself, no matter the cost.

Summary
For ages, the Sacred Relics became the balance of Middle-earth, maintaining the harmony of magic and nature that the Valar had created and protected.
