They may not be physically touching, but they’re so close to it and he’s looking at her like she’s a meal (which should be concerning because she knows he literally eats people) and she really, really wishes they were touching right now. “Because I can be nice. Real nice.” His free hand reaches up to her face, and she’s so focused on watching his expression and how close his face is to hers that she doesn’t even realize until his thumb brushes over the barely-healing split in her lip. “…But I don’t think nice is what ya’ want, is it?”

“Cannot be parted from her, yes indeed, you old fool”, he muttered under his breath, replacing the panel he’d had to remove under the console.---
She had never dreamed about the Doctor in this fashion. If she was quite honest with herself, she hadn’t dared let her thoughts wander in that direction. Why awaken longings for something that could never be? Sarah had always been a realist.
