“Why are you doing this?”
Childe frowns, confusion clear on his face. “Doing what?”
“This,” Scaramouche tries to explain. “Bringing me here, putting your life at risk just to help me treat my injury. I don’t understand what you get out of this.”
Childe hums as he seems to consider his answer. “I dunno,” he admits. “Do I need a reason?”
Scaramouche scoffs. “Surely you’re not just helping me out of the kindness of your heart.”
“And what if I was?”
It’s been three weeks since the outbreak first swept through Inazuma, and Scaramouche is tired. Alone and injured, the only thing he wants is a medical kit and to maybe stay alive for one more day. What he finds instead is a stranger with blue eyes and a bright smile who just won't seem to leave him alone. Left with no choice but to work together to survive, Scaramouche finds himself drawn into a journey that could change everything he believes about the world around him. And, maybe, everything he believes about himself.
