It was dark, and neither of them bothered to turn on the light, figuring it would be too jarring to their eyes. They stumbled to the bed, Cypher mainly relying on Omen’s guidance to find the mattress. So when Omen toppled onto it, he couldn’t help but fall with him, landing with a grunt atop a soft, knitted blanket.
Omen reached out automatically when Cypher sat up to begin leaving, and he held his coat in his fist, both of them staring at the other in silence for a few moments.
“Uh… Omen?”
“Stay with me.”

Sasha’s face flushed, and his mouth parted in surprise, heart caught in his throat as he waited for Amir to elaborate further, something that never came.

He stopped to listen over his own thumping heartbeat, hearing smooth electric guitar and soft drums filling the air between them.
