Summary
Josephine Maddox has spent her entire life grappling with the person she wants to become. Newly emancipated and yearning for a fresh start, she's happy to finally relieve herself of her fanatical father, but when Josephine learns of his plans to head north and wipe out the fresh-faced Minutemen, she takes it upon herself to warn them of their impending doom. However, once she arrives, Josephine begins to see the true magnitude of the situation and finds herself roped into what is brewing to be a war. Then, as if that wasn’t enough, someone she thought lost is thrust back into her life, forcing Josephine to face emotions buried deep and hidden from the surface.
Robert MacCready’s goal in life is to be a good man, the man he knows he can be. He’s joined with the Minutemen to help and protect people, built a nice life for himself, and even has a circle of friends who he can trust, something truly rare in the wasteland. Then, the attacks start, and the hysteria they’d worked so hard to destroy with the Institute returns, but this time, it's no boogeyman. No leads, no explanations, and they’re left grasping at straws, until a face MacCready never thought he’d see again appears in Sanctuary with their lifeline.
