Summary
Simon Blackquill is in need of a roommate. Athena is moving out, he's not keen to relocate, and he can't afford the place on his own. He knows it'll be difficult; he's not the most approachable person, given his bleak appearance and rough ex-convict exterior. But he really needs someone to take this room, so he can tone down the Twisted Samurai bit. He can play nice.
As it turns out, he's not the problem; Taka and her violent, talon-backed veto powers are. She's rejected every candidate so far, and at this point, Simon will take practically anyone.
Nahyuta Sahdmadhi is looking for a room. Since moving to LA, he'd been unceremoniously kicked out by his xenophobic roommate, at no fault of his own. Since then, he's been holed up in Apollo and Klavier's spare room. Fearing he's overstayed his welcome and ready to escape their non-stop PDA, he's desperate to find somewhere new.
The search isn't going well-- all the places he's found are either bordering on unlivable, ludicrously expensive, or both. At this point, he'll take practically anything.
Or: Simon Blackquill and Nahyuta Sahdmadhi become roommates, purely as each other's last resort.

Summary
Klavier Gavin had lost a lot of people in the courtroom.
He'd become painfully desensitized to the sight of a loved one in the defendant's chair or behind the witness stand. He's used to being dragged into the center of cases he really shouldn't have anything to do with. He's had his heart broken more than once while standing behind the prosecutor's bench. His life, it seems, is inexplicably intertwined with the justice system, and it has taken so very much away from him.
He never expected it to give anything back.
Basically, an AA5 rewrite where Klavier stuck around after Turnabout Academy, built newer, healthier relationships, and unpacked some of his traumas.
Broadly, a story about platonic love, romantic love, and self love.
Title adapted from Margaret Atwood's poem "Variation on the Word Sleep".

“I’ve been patient, man, but—“
“Man?” Buck frowns, making an affronted sound at the back of his throat. “Did you just call me man in bed? You’re kidding me right now.”
“What would you rather I say, Buck?” Eddie quizzes, shoving at Buck’s arm to dislodge him. He hooks an ankle around Buck’s calf and all of a sudden he’s on top.
Settling onto Buck’s thighs for a moment, he leans forward to drag Buck into a kiss, licking messily into his mouth. When Eddie pulls away, he continues. “Schnookems?” He bites at the juncture of Buck’s neck and shoulder, kissing the sting away. “Honey bear?” He mouths up Buck’s neck, pinching a nipple. Buck tries to thrust up against Eddie but has nowhere to go with Eddie’s bulk pressing him down. “Sugar plum?” He glides his hands up, sliding both into Buck’s hair, leaning in for another wet kiss.
“Baby?” he says, sitting up and scooting forward to situate himself over Buck’s dick. Buck whimpers.
