No one at the Ministry or St. Mungo's rushes to find a cure when a strange illness affects those with the Dark Mark tattoo, so once it involves their family, the Malfoys decide to take things into their own hands. As usual, Draco's plans tend to work out for the worse, especially when Harry Potter is added to the mix.

He smiles, but in that "that's too good to be true, especially for me," sort of way he does. Decades later, he finds himself standing in a hallway in Kiev, starring at a "Я" written on his palm. Ivan tells him what it says, and Matthew assumes it's a wet paint situation, he laughs it off, "I don't have a soulmate," he says, missing the way Ivan falters upon hearing those words.

Looking for a cure to this, King Arthur looks towards the North, where there lives a race of frost people. Because relations between Arthur's kingdom and the North are hostile, he hires a mercenary, Ivan, to make this trip for him. Little does he know, Alfred is planning to tag along.

“Viktor. My name is Viktor“, Viktor says, unsure whether to offer his hand.
The man laughs, crystal clear and sparkling, a stark contrast against the low, rumbling beat.
“Of course it is“, he says.
Viktor raises his eyebrows. “You don‘t believe me?“
The guy shakes his head deliberately.
“No, I‘m sure it‘s true. It‘s just...“, he makes a vague gesture towards Viktor‘s entire being, “you know, you meet a guy in a goth club, wearing a black suit and white tie, possibly Pikes, and having a fancy, elegant haircut, you absolutely expect him to be called Viktor or Damian or, you know, Valerian, or something. Or at least call himself something like that.“
Viktor furrows his brow and regards the man levelly.
“Are you saying I‘m a cliché?“
