“It can’t go on like this.” He said, his expression dark. “You’re not just sick, Elrond. You’re fading. Mordor is killing you.”
Elrond managed to smile weakly. It was something he’d suspected, but hearing it from Adar confirmed his theory. “I’m sorry.”
Adar looked at him as if he’d lost his mind. “Why are you apologizing? I insisted that you should accompany us here.”
“It’s not your fault either.” He argued softly. “And I wanted to come with you.” It was the truth, he realized that now.
“You will leave tomorrow.” Adar’s words were simple and cold. However, Elrond knew him well enough by now to know that the coldness was a mask. A way to hide his true emotions. “Return to Lindon and take as much time as you need. Get well again. In the meantime, I will make some arrangements so that you will be able to stay here without facing this again.”
Elrond hesitated. “Adar…”
The uruk grabbed his hands. “I need you to heal, Elrond.”After Sauron is defeated, Adar proposes an alliance between elves and uruks. He marries Elrond and they go to Mordor. Only that elves can't last long in the poisoned land. So Adar sends him away, only for Elrond to run into trouble with the dwarves. ELROND x ADAR

That answered exactly none of the questions Círdan was currently forming.
