Summary
Her voice is soft in Sage’s ear above the background noise of the fireworks and chatter. Her words are only for Sage, her heart the same. “The world waits for you until tomorrow. Don’t waste the night, hermosa. Nothing exploded as of now. That is plenty for me to drink to.” Reyna proceeds to wave her hand in dismissal as she leans back and Sage sighs. Upon seeing Sage's distrust written plainly across her face, Reyna continues. “For one night, put your trust in me. Enjoy a drink and relax. Forget the rest of the world in need.”
Sage is left considering Reyna’s kind words. She has a good point, although the ache of guilt lingering in Sage’s chest doesn’t entirely fade. “I guess one night cannot be too awful to indulge in…”

Cypher’s greed brought about their demise. Their blood is forever dripping from his hands and splattered across the plethora of dossiers he’s written. But Chamber doesn’t ask for him to repent for that, to make him pay for the damage he’s done. He doesn’t even make Cypher feel like he should.
He may as well see the blood and lick it from his hands, hear the extent of crimes and call it a hymn. He is not soft in the way that Nora was because he is just like Cypher. Selfish. Sickening.
Chamber doesn’t try to pretend he is something better than he is for Cypher’s sake either. They both know Cypher does not deserve it anyway. They are both cruel, brutal, and battered. Neither of them can hide that forever behind any mask or persona.

Summary
Scaramouche hates death.
He hates it.
He hates the way it seeps into the bones of people he has loved and chills them until they can’t move or speak. He hates the way it takes their breath and replaces it with charred ash, leaving their body to be a dormant shell. He hates the way that he has no control of it and simply has to watch as it happens around him. Yet despite all the pain that it has caused him, this time it seems that the mistress that is death has spared him. She has loomed above him for far too long and this once she has turned a blind eye and looked away; Because Childe is not dead yet.

Summary
Scaramouche will thank a higher power for allowing the two of them to pretend they deserve this warmth for just one night. The Balladeer doesn’t deserve this, nor does the monster born from The Abyss. Scaramouche is only deserving of the inevitable depths of hell that swallow you whole, and of devastating blows in battles that would shatter his porcelain form into shards far beyond any sort of repair.
