Summary
He’s stopped in his tracks by an exy racquet swinging down in front of him, close enough that he can hear the wind whistling through the strings.
He drags his gaze upward to find a man he doesn’t recognise grinning widely at him, eyes hard and cold. He keeps the racquet at Andrew’s feet, preventing him from moving. “Leaving so soon?” the man laughs, a cheery lilt in his voice that makes the back of Andrew’s neck prickle.

Summary
It’s Halloween night, and Andrew Minyard is twenty-seven years old. Twenty-eight, nearly. A college graduate of four years, playing professional Exy of all the damn things. He’d signed a contract with the US Court two weeks ago, once they signed Neil too. He has a car, two cats, an apartment in Denver, and he hasn’t touched a knife for anything but cooking in four years.
Aaron is at medical school, and he’s safe. Kevin moved to Houston to be with Thea, and he’s safe. Nicky and Erik got married last summer. Safe. Robin signed with a pro team in Montana, and Neil said he saw her in the airport with some girl, but Andrew didn’t hear it from him.
Everybody he’s ever needed to protect is taking care of themselves now, and Andrew thinks he’s still getting used to that. Bee would be proud of him for thinking it.

But, in desperate need of new strikers after their last abysmal season, Baltimore drafted one of the best out of Milwaukee: Neil Josten. Neil needs an anchor to help him survive his hometown, and Andrew decides to help him make new memories. And maybe, along the way, he'll learn how to apologize for breaking Neil's heart.

Summary
Andrew shakes his head and takes a drag. “So, you don’t plan on using gay panic as a defense tomorrow.”
The world tilts a little on its axis as he takes a step back, like that will lessen the sting.
“Fuck you,” Aaron breathes. “Fuck you, Andrew, you know that’s not what I meant.”
“Isn’t it? We both know you don’t exactly support me sucking dick.”Or: the night before his trial, Aaron talks to Andrew.
