The bell above the door chimes, signifying an arrival. But this one is important, and the person walking through that door is always right on schedule, never a minute or even one second off. There’s a reason they’re able to set an alarm by it, and even though Norton hates that it’s Orpheus’s device they use, he’s still grateful. That alarm serves as the single bright spot in his entire day.
It represents the time when he walks in.

But in this moment, he feels as if the entire manor can hear his panic like steam from a tea kettle, whistling out in warning.
