Summary
The world pauses. Sirius can’t hear a thing, and his peripheral vision blacks out. Something buried deep inside of him starts screaming when the face between James’ hands meets his eyes.
No. It can’t be.
"Regulus?"
And this man—this, being, this creature with his face, looks back at him. Angular features, sharp cheekbones, intense blue-gray eyes, only a few shades off from Sirius’ own. Across his face run the same three scars that Sirius got so comfortable seeing across Léonie’s, and with a pang of hurt, Sirius, for just one moment, thinks of Remus.
He looks… terrified.
James follows the path of his gaze to look up at Sirius. He has tears in his eyes. But all Sirius can think is:
That is not him.
The face’s mouth moves.
”... Hi, Sirius."

Summary
For many years, there was one thing keeping him from taking his own life. At sixteen, that thing changed into another, and then he briefly learned to fight against the urge for his own sake instead of another’s, and even through thirteen years in a maddening cage, he never looked back.
And, in the end, he lost them both anyway.
So here he is, a lifetime later, having forgotten that, at some point, he did not know the answer.
As he falls through the veil, Sirius Black discovers that death feels like weightlessness.
Quicker than falling asleep.

Summary
Regulus Black died at 19 years old, being pulled under the cold currents by inferi and thinking of his brother. Sirius Black died at 36, falling through the veil of death and thinking of his brother -- but not of Regulus.
He hadn't thought about Regulus for a long time, although he was always tucked away in the corners of his mind, taking up space in his chapped heart.
That was, until he died. And then there was no running away from Regulus and all the hidden feelings. He saw his little brother for the first time in years, and they fought viciously, because what else are they supposed to do? Talk?

Summary
Regulus woke up that morning knowing that he was going to die that day. He only had one thing he had to do before he would let himself die. He wanted, needed, to attend his brother's wedding. He would wear glamors to disguise himself. No one would know it was him. At least, that was the plan.
Or; Regulus goes to a wedding, gets seen but not recognized, then dies. James goes to a wedding and sees someone but doesn't recognize them, and then they die and James remembers it all.
