There’s something peculiar about the tattoo parlor and the flower shop that are across the street from each other, some people say. The drawings sticking on the tattoo parlor’s walls look alive sometimes, and all the flowers in the flower shop always appear to be in bloom at all times.

Summary
It's days like these when Akaashi can't help but reminisce. The scar was ugly, brutal, and the story behind it wasn't much better. Being on opposite sides of the law, it was only a matter of time before Akaashi and Bokuto would be forced to try and kill the other.

Summary
Akaashi blinks in astonishment, careful to keep his mouth closed. His gaze flickers towards Bokuto, whose laughter carries across the room and into his ears. Hinata says something to him excitedly, and Bokuto’s head bobs up for a moment, making eye contact with Akaashi as he grins, and, oh, Akaashi suddenly thinks, heart skipping a beat, that maybe, just maybe, he could believe it-
It’s dangerous, Akaashi realises, startled, as he almost smiles back. This is the climb. If he falls now, it’ll be a long drop.

Day 3: Flowers
“I promise you. I promise I’ll come back.”
He promises, George thinks wistfully. He promises such a thing- to offer George with his word on something, to uphold it. It’s as if he’s saying that he’ll give the world to him, just for him. But somewhere is the lingering thought in George's mind is that he won't come back. That the cruel war that had riddled their land will take him too, and he will be left aching and worry-worn. George shivers at the thought. Of a life without him.
“You promise?"
That you’ll come home to me?
And as if he heard those unspoken words. Dream beams at him.
“I promise. You won’t even notice that I was gone, my love.”
George lets out a wet and broken laugh at the overly romantic pet name that he associates with his beloved. Dream does so too, before pulling him back into his embrace.
They stay there for a bit. The war can wait.
“I promise I’ll be waiting.”
(or, the war au with letters and oscar wilde quotes.)

“I wanna hear you play.”
“I’m sorry, I don’t play the piano.”
“No, no, not that,” Bokuto stammered, looking down at Akaashi’s bandaged fingers. “The violin.”
Akaashi gave his upperclassman a look. “Why?”
Golden eyes met emerald ones. “I… wanna hear your music.”

Summary
Akaashi doesn’t want much. A roof over his head, food in the fridge, and above all a chance to play alongside Bokuto. But everything has a price, even a crummy apartment and cup ramen. What wouldn’t Akaashi pay to stay with his team at Fukurōdani? Surely the money was worth the many “clients” who paid for his nights. Surely he could take the hits to his safety, his sanity, his self-worth. He’s taken it all up until now, so he can bear it a little longer. Surely he can keep his teammates from worrying. Surely...

“It doesn’t have to mean anything. We just-- we met so young. Most people don’t even meet their soulmates until they’re in college, Keiji. Or-- at least highschool, yaknow?” he paused and finally glanced over, “Right?” Keiji stayed silent, positive he would vomit if he tried to answer.
“Come on, Keiji. Aren’t you afraid we’ll get bored of each other?”

“Are you always awake at this time?”
Akaashi blinked at Tsukishima as he wiped down a nearby table, tearing his gaze away from his laptop where he’d been furiously typing for hours nonstop. “What?”
“It’s nearly one in the morning, you’ve been here at this time and even later consistently the last two weeks.”

Summary
The last thing he remembered was Bokuto driving late at night down a questionably narrow road that was barely fenced off from a rather dangerous cliff that if someone fell off of they would likely die. Or get seriously injured. Or something.
He knew full well it wasn’t Bokuto’s fault. He was surprisingly a really good and very safe driver. But there was another driver on the road, one who clearly should not have been driving.
Next thing they knew, they were crashed into, shoved off the road, and rolling down a cliff.
Keiji was probably knocked unconscious after that.

Summary
Time works on some people like sandpaper, and though Keiji doesn’t grow smaller, his words do. He never wastes any, never makes a sound not worth making. You always become what other people say you are, and Keiji has always been told that he’s such a quiet kid.
And what the hell is he supposed to do with that?
To him, words come as easy as breathing. Too bad saying them makes them more than that. It makes them so much more than that.
(To be brave enough to exist in a sentence spoken out loud. What does it take?
Not much. Just everything. Just absolutely everything.)
Or, Akaashi Keiji has the habit of thinking a million words and then only saying half of what he means. It gets worse.
