Summary
How is Jisung even supposed to act? Minho probably has it all figured out. He knew where he was coming, after all. He knew that Jisung would be here. He was able to prepare himself. Jisung was blindsided.
He decides that he’ll do what he’s been doing all this time. Pretend Minho doesn’t exist to the best of his abilities and only interact with him when it’s strictly and professionally necessary.
He wishes they could be friends. He wishes they could go back to where they left off. But it’s been four long years of heartache, and Jisung just—can’t.
Minho doesn’t seem to feel the same way.
(Minho and Jisung signed the divorce papers more than three years ago when Minho packed his life into his suitcases and left—without Jisung. But when he walks through the doors of the Seoul National University Hospital again four years later, they will both be reminded that a signature doesn’t always mean the end.)

Felix eyed him suspiciously, searching his face for even the faintest trace of a bluff, but Minho looked so damn unshaken it only threw him further off balance.
“For whatever reason, I don’t mind sharing with you.”
Jisung and Felix had always been inseparable, bound together by years of friendship, trust, and a little too much skinship. Minho should’ve been jealous—he was possessive, everyone knew it—but when it came to them, there wasn’t even a flicker of envy. After all, it was the natural order of things: humans need oxygen; Jisung and Felix needed each other. And Minho wouldn’t have it any other way.

They’re in the cafeteria again, sitting at none other than the same place as usual. Jisung slumps over his plate of bulgogi, glumly picking at the meat instead of eating it.
And as usual, Jisung lets his eyes wander over to Hyunjin’s table. He’s sitting next to Lee Felix again, thrice in a row. He heard that on the trainees’ last day off, Felix and Hyunjin both went downtown to the night markets. Together. Alone. Jealousy twists in Jisung’s heart like a knife, and it’s an extremely ugly thing. It creeps up Jisung like an invasive vine, curling around his body in ropes.
“They can get married to each other for all I care,” Jisung bites out loudly, clutching his fork so hard that the handle digs painfully into his palm.
Jeongin looks up from his soup, confused. “Huh?”
(OR: Jisung hates Hwang Hyunjin, a conviction that definitely stays the same over the course of one year.)
