Last night, Ilya dreamed Shane served him divorce papers. They were making dinner when suddenly Shane pulled them out of the microwave and thrust them into Ilya’s hand. This isn’t working, he said. I’m divorcing you. No negotiations.
And look: of course Ilya understands that it was just a dream. The official divorce petition was a stack of sticky notes. Shane had faintly green skin and, Ilya is pretty sure, a third eye next to his left nipple. It obviously wasn’t real.

Summary
Throughout the short months Derek has been spending at the Stilinski Orphanage, he's come to a few conclusions. One, for the Stilinski's, bullying is a zero tolerance thing. There are hundreds of kids staying under their roof and they want things to be peaceful.
Of course, with that many children in one place, with different backgrounds and ethnicities, not everyone follows this rule. The thing is that because the Stilinski Orphanage is actually very popular and well respected, kids circle in and out in a decently fast cycle. Enforcing the strict no bullying rule isn't always as effective, and so sometimes, these bullies get called to the headmaster's office and then transferred to another orphanage, in a place that's far, far away from Beacon Hills.
Except Derek knows better.
He's pretty sure the Stilinskis eat the 'transferred' bullies. Not that he really cares.

He's tired. Derek doesn't know if it's the smoke or if it's letting go of everything that makes him weary down to his bones. It makes it easier to lay there, for the wolf under his skin to settle down and give in.
The smoke is thick now, and his bedroom door is ringed with the light of the fire. Derek closes his eyes and waits. Part of him wants to fight the smoke so he'll feel the flames. It's what he deserves. It's what he's always deserved.
There's a splintering crash outside his door. Derek thinks maybe the building is giving in. It's a shitty old apartment complex that barely cost him a dime to rent. It doesn’t surprise him.
"Hello? Beacon Hills Fire Department! Is anyone here!?" A voice shouts over the flames and Derek thinks, no. He wills them to go away, to just leave him.Bookmarked by klimt

Everything’s a bit shit.
Not only couldn’t Stiles afford to go to college right after high school, he also lost his best friend to the cool kids. Him and Scotty hadn’t been talking for a while, and now Scott had left Beacon Hills with the rest of those lucky bastards. With all their savings spent on his dead mother’s medical bills, Stiles is forced to stay behind and work in a shitty store by a shitty gas station. Life crawls by, so does the first summer fresh out of high school, when none other turns up at the gas station than Derek Hale.
Derek Hale, who had been gone for about 15 years after his family died in that fire, only manages to ask Stiles for a book recommendation, before he is already arrested for murder. After that spectacular homecoming he is sure to be the talk of the town.This story is set in a canon divergence alternative universe, where Stiles never found out about werewolves. Now that Derek is back in town, he plans on courting clueless Stiles since they are mates. The way it turned out, it's mostly fluff and smut and slice of life, because I wanted to give these characters some peace (and write in some kinks of mine).
