Jungkook stays silent, but he doesn’t break eye contact with Hoseok. He studies his face intensely.
“A secret?” Jungkook asks.
“Mhmm,” Hoseok hums, “can be anything.”
A few moments pass before Jungkook can articulate a proper answer. This is it. This is the moment. Knowing is better than wondering, he reminds himself. So, he takes the leap of faith.
"I'm in love with you and I'm terrified," he whispers quietly. There. It is out. No going back now.

Summary
As he looked at Jungkook now, listening to him play, feeling more relaxed than he had in a long time, all made it easier for the thought to float to the top of Hoseok’s mind. Untethered now, the Big Thought floating free. Hoseok’s little box had fallen apart. He hadn’t realised, but every sweet moment that day, each laugh and every smile aimed his way, all the hugs and the looks and the touches, had left cracks behind, until all it needed was Jungkook’s warm presence and beautiful voice to break it entirely.
And it seemed now, in the light of this moment, that Hoseok could finally see it, the feeling he’d been avoiding.
