The Gryffindor table erupted with chatter. Across the hall, at the Slytherin table, Dorcas Meadowes was distinctly less amused.
“This sounds like a disaster waiting to happen,” she said under her breath.

Arriving at their sixth year of Hogwarts, by an awful twist of fate (and because Dumbledore got bored over the break), a pen pal system has been implemented at Hogwarts. “Inej,” he said evenly, like how he used to greet her whenever she came to his window to report, but now she knew him well enough to see it for what he was; both a reminder of who she was and an acknowledgement that he saw her. He recognized her and said her name as if it was the simplest fact in the world.
(She thought that might be how Kaz loves; in facts, logic, and numbers. He tells her that he is valuable to him not because he sees her as nothing more than something to be bought but because he sees her as irreplaceable. And when she told him that she didn’t like being spoken of like that, he stopped, and Inej had a hunch that he didn’t even really understand why she didn’t like it. He just never wanted to hurt her, and that was enough.)

A very long fic entailing the Marauders' years at Hogwarts (and beyond), from all four perspectives. Starts in 1971 with four eleven-year-old boys on the train, ends somewhere long past where any of them thought they’d still be standing.
This is a wolfstar fic at heart, but also a jegulus fic. And a jily fic. And a pebill fic. And also a whole lot more. There’s love in it. There’s war too. Sometimes they’re the same thing.
Remus is a half-feral werewolf with too many secrets. Sirius is the family disappointment with too many walls. James is everyone's golden boy, too charming for his own good. Peter is the quiet one, watching it all happen.
None of them come out of it the same. Canon-compliant in spirit, queer in every other sense.Series
