Summary
Ken Kaneki was lonely. His life was tainted with tragedy ever since he was little. With a father that died before he could remember and a mother that only neglected and abused him, the boy had no one to really depend on.However, after he discovered his late father’s book collection, he found a way to feel less lonely. Kaneki would spend hours sitting in a corner by the stuffed bookshelf in his father’s laboratory and get absorbed in the many stories that were written in the thick paper.
While books helped him cope with his loneliness, someone else also came into Kaneki’s life. Hideyoshi Nagachika -also known as Hide- could make Kaneki forget about everything (and everyone) that hurt him. That was until his beloved mother passed away and everything changed... After being forced to live with his horrid aunt and her family, Kaneki felt so hopeless, even the incarnation of the sun himself could no longer save him from suffocating pain and loneliness.
