So what you'll find here is a collection of uuuh literary analyses of Robert Plant's original lyrics from the 70s to current times. The idea behind it is that Robert has been writing about his epic love story with Jimmy Page...
(*shuffling of chairs and rumble of footsteps as the audience stampedes for the nearest exit in a panic*)
... Oookay. So. The three brave souls remaining, with enough curiosity and open-mindedness (or enough "poor girl, she's tried so hard") to give me a chance. Gather round, bit closer.
What I was saying. Robert Plant has been writing about his epic love story with Jimmy Page in his songs since forever. It's really not that subtle. All it takes to see it is considering "so what if it was real" and have a quick look.
But since I've found symbols, metaphors, recurring themes, connections and callbacks all over the place, I'd like to tell you about them. I've done the work, so you don't have to.
The conclusion is (spoilers) yes, Jimbert is hella real, it's not platonic, it's colossal, it's fucking beautiful... and it's alive.

So, this fic was inspired by an idea had by @tophats-n-lespauls on tumblr 'Voodoo dolls for long distance BDSM' but of course it went it's own way. There are indeed Voodoo dolls and the tale is told by one of them; there is a little BDSM - it's Jimmy and Robert after all. It's a story about Jimmy taking from magic with a history he doesn't understand, and love, and soulmates, and sex, and the blues.
I've written this as a slight crossover with Neil Gaiman's American Gods - I've long wanted to write Led Zeppelin/American Gods, because who is more part of how belief and folklore manifests in the US than Zeppelin? Golden Gods/ Dark Lords that they were.
NB: Louisiana Voodoo has open practices and I have written this as respectfully as I am able.
