Summary
Really, Eddie doesn’t care that the PTA aren’t his biggest fan. He knows he misses too many meetings, and it’s not like he’s best friends with any of the other parents. It doesn’t affect Christopher, so it doesn’t bother him. He’ll pay for the annual fundraising mugs and consider his duty done.
But then Buck picks Christopher up from a class trip and it all goes to hell.
Like, of course Buck is everyone’s dream guy. He’s responsible with kids, and kind, and funny and interesting and hot to touch. That’s obvious. But now Eddie’s fighting to keep the PTA moms, teachers, and dads, all off an unsuspecting and tempting Buck.
Because Eddie is a good friend. Right?

Eddie shrugs. “Christopher mentioned to Daniel that Buck and I are partners. I mean, sure, it’s a little weird that she invited him over as well, but—”
“Partners,” Hen interrupts, “like work partners?”
Eddie and Buck glance at each other. “Uh, yeah?” Eddie says. “What other type of partner?”
Hen stares at them for a moment, before she bursts out laughing. “You dumbasses. She thinks you’re together.”
or, Eddie joins the PTA.

It's not often that Buck is the sensible one in their little fire family - but seriously, someone has to let Eddie know that Hildy isn't taking over the world.
That is, if Eddie would stop panicking about sentient technology long enough to listen to him.

Summary
Langdon’s first day back is almost as eventful as Mel’s first day here.
She knows this, because she’s hyper-aware of where he is nearly at all times, ever since she looked up as he walked through the doors and their eyes met. It’s not that she’s worried about him—he’s been preparing for this. He’s done the necessary rehab, and scheduled therapy appointments, and signed all the paperwork needed to return. It’s just that she knows he’s worried. And, well.
They’re friends, she thinks. Or at least she hopes they are. She visited him during his initial treatment, drove him to a couple of NA meetings every now and then, and spent time with him outside of his recovery whenever he felt comfortable enough to allow it. So, they’re friends. She wants his first day back to go well.

exquisite! starts with plot about house magic and breakins but ends up being a wonderful character study of both harry and draco and their relationship with family, the self, and the search for happiness. really love draco here even if he can be a bit verbose

“This is in no way an accusation,” Robby says, stroking his beard with a thumb and a forefinger. He’s steeling himself for discomfort in a way that makes Frank want to turn heel and walk back out of this conversation entirely. “Consider it a fact-finding mission. No more, no less. Even if the answer is affirmative. But—is there anything I need to know about your relationship with Dr. King?”

“Greg, you’re being too fucking polite for your own good,” Tom says, throwing back the last of his wine. “Say something mean right now.”
“Like what?”
“Don’t get distracted, finish your thought. Try saying what you’re really thinking.”
“I don’t—“
“Fine, I’ll do it for you. ‘Oh, I’m Greg, uh, I hate capitalism but actively participate in it, oh, God, Logan Roy is my real dad. Oh, God. Kiss me, Tom.’”
“Okay—“
“‘Oh God, Tom, take me home.’ Okay, seriously, I’m getting the bill.”

Summary
She drops a slightly thumbed paperback in front of him and all the air leaves his body at once. ¡Y Tu Mama Tambien!, the cover shouts out in chunky block text. ... And it’s not a coincidence, it can’t be, because there at the top is the name: T.J. Iturbide. Daniel had warned him – “Tenoch wrote a book at last, güey, you should read it.”
It’s Spring 2012, and there’s a conversation that needs to be had.

Summary
Will moves back to an upright position, wiping his hair out of his eyes, head and shoulders peeking above the water. “Mike,” he says, pulling Mike up with him, their fingers still intertwined.
“Yeah?” Mike says, tilting his head so the water trickles out of his ears, wincing slightly. “What is it?”
Will’s eyes dart back and forth between his, and then Mike feels his hand squeeze his own. “I don’t want you to, like, think I moved back for you,” he starts, which in and of itself would be enough to get Mike’s soul soaring straight out of his own body, if it weren’t for Will’s thumb pressed against his pulse point like some kind of mortal tether. “Because it’s not like that, I promise. But I think– I think I realized there’s a difference between things you want and things you need, you know?”
mike wheeler on losing people and having them again, the difference between wanting and needing, and finally letting go.

Summary
Mike thinks back to the painting Will gave him, rolled up and placed carefully in his dresser drawer, because for some reason it felt too wrong to hang it up on the walls with everything else. Too intimate. Like Will had made it for his eyes only. Or, apparently as everyone else thought, some mystery lover in California. And then he thinks about Will dozing off on his bed, and saying I think I’m in love with you all soft and slowed down from the inertia of sleep, and that’s right about when Mike starts to feel seriously lightheaded. He leans back against his bed and focuses very hard on taking deep, even breaths.
Mike contemplates his feelings for Will Byers, partakes in a concerning amount of swooning, and learns to drive. Sort of.

Summary
To be fair, Will’s costume is great, now that Mike knows what it is. And, okay, wait-
“Oh, this is so good. This is so good.” Max points at Mike, wheezing. “Because you’re dressed as-”
Will’s still looking straight up at the sky. The length of his neck is very, very flushed. Mike can feel his entire face going redder than Vader’s lightsaber. He clenches his hands into tiny little fists, and says, around a groan: “I’m not Han Solo, guys.”
In which Lucas has a thing for Bowie, Will has a thing for Han Solo, Mike has a thing for Will, and El should never be allowed to watch Star Wars again.

He feels the physical embodiment of devastated, his already too strung-out mind struggling to wall up all the hurt, the rejection—he takes a deep shuddering breath and looks down at the shredded skin on his arms, at the sluggish way they’re weakly healing.
There is nothing, nothing he wants more than to have Derek sweep in and make everything all better. He should have known, though, that something like that would never happen to him.
