They were staring at him.
Damian ducked his head low, but then his anger flared. How dare they think him so weak. His hand shot out, grabbed the deep fried monstrosity that was whatever the hell it was meant to be and took a massive bite.
His whole body went stiff, the crunch all wrong and the flavour so much worse and for some reason tears prickled his eyes.
“Hey hey,” Richard said quickly, grabbing the rest of the not-food from his hand.
Damian shook, recoiling from Todd when he reached out a hand.
“I’m fine.” He snarled. “Don’t touch me.”
“I wasn’t,” Todd said.
He wasn’t grinning anymore. No, Todd’s expression was different.
“I’m sorry,” Todd said. “I was being a jerk. Do you want me to get you a safe food instead? You like salads, right? But no dressing?”
Safe… Food?

He's not sick. Not when the fever climbs, when breathing becomes a battle he can’t win alone, when the river’s infection sinks its teeth into his lungs and blood- No. He's fine.
Damian Al-Ghul does not get sick. That would imply weakness. And he is an unstoppable, invincible, ten-year-old war assassin- …who maybe, possibly, hypothetically should not be coughing like that. Or swaying like that. Or unable to get up anymore. No.
