Set after the events of WTFuture, Tom and Matt have managed to capture Edd and return him to his rightful place in the future, serving under Red Leader as he continues his takeover of the UK. The cola's flat, the future's a red nightmare, and Edd's seemingly at a dead end.
It doesn’t take Edd long to stumble upon a glimmer of hope – the Redbellion, a resistance more than willing to provide Edd with the help he needs. Driven by a thirst for freedom and cola, Edd hatches a daring plan: steal a time machine and go back to the past to eliminate Red Leader before his reign of terror begins.

I’m up against the wall, two feet from a broken elevator and one foot from a complete stranger, when I realize I’m down to two cigarettes.
He’s shifting from foot to foot, eyes flitting around nervously. Maybe the guy should loosen his damned fancy tie a bit, let some air in. Maybe that’d do his anxiety some good.
Still, it’s great to see another human being—one who isn’t actively trying to kill me. I trust this guy as far as I can throw him, don’t get me wrong, but after all the shit I’ve been through today, maybe I shouldn’t measure by my throwing strength.
But I’m down to two cigarettes, anyhow, and this guy’s got nerves up the wazoo and out the ears.
Call it an olive branch.

“Go away.” He’s being unusually (though not uncharacteristically) cold, usually he reserves the nastier side of his mouth for Tom. Edd was under the impression that they were quite close.
Then he hears it: a sniffle.
