Summary
Due to a heavenly mix up, Feng Xin and Mu Qing begin hearing prayers from a believer meant for another god. They recruit Ling Wens help to solve the issue only to discover that not only is the errant devotee a ghost, but this particularly zealous ghost is praying to their former crown prince, the twice banished god of misfortune, Xie Lian.
They embark on a mission to locate said ghost - and the missing crown prince - to hopefully put things to rights.

Summary

When Hua Cheng departs in the middle of the night leaving Xie Lian behind with a diamond ring as his parting gift. Xie Lian comes to the only logical conclusion he can think of: he and Hua Cheng are now married.Heaven is not amused.

Summary
Xie Lian stumbles into ghost city prior to his third ascension on accident - but he does join the Hua Cheng fan club on purpose once he is there.

Xie Lian hadn’t meant to end up in ghost city. He had been evicted with short notice from village he was staying in due to “practicing evil magic” (he was only cooking meals for himself! eviction plus attempted exorcism seemed like a bit of an overreaction on the locals part!).

“You don’t know who our Chengzhu is?” The ghost squawked. Xie Lian shook his head. The ghosts around him immediately started clamoring.
“Hua Cheng!”“The most feared ghost king”
“Ruler of ghost city”
“Destroyer of gods”
“Crimson Rain Sought Flower”
“I haven’t” Xie Lian said once the clamor died down “but Crimson Rain Sought Flower is quite the name, how did he come by it?”

Summary
Xie Lian woke up on a soft mattress, something he hadn’t felt in centuries. He also woke up without sight in one eye, which wasn’t as worrying as it should have been. There was a noticeable change in his stature, too, he noticed when he got out of bed.
Of course, this was all a result of not being in his own body.
Or, Hua Cheng and Xie Lian somehow manage to switch bodies. Only one of them knows who the other is, though.

Xie Lian’s smile falters, he pauses in sheathing Fang Xin. The blade is heavy in his palms, a weight that he has never grown accustomed to, despite his centuries with the sword. “En”, he says. “It’s called Wu Ming.”

Xie Lian teaches Hua Cheng a sword technique he invented himself. It brings up a past he wishes to forget.
