Summary
“Did you drive here?” Shauna asks. This feels promising, not quite so bitter and shameful as last time. Jackie doesn’t give two shits about Lottie besides being jealous that a girl three months younger than her drives a Sapphire Pearl Lexus. If Lottie decides to follow Shauna to whatever dark corner she needs in order to earn her favor, then this isn’t leverage or revenge, it’s just her. Just Shauna giving herself to someone—selling herself and bartering away what little she has in order to eke out even a speck of what Jackie receives in droves.
“Yeah but I’m not really good to hop on the freeway right now.” Lottie laughs but she looks a little unnerved that Shauna ‘buckle in’ Shipman would suggest driving under the influence.
“That’s okay.” Shauna says. “I don’t want to go far.”

Summary
It’s July 2006, and Faith and Buffy are being sent to investigate a series of unidentified demon attacks taking place at resorts along the California coast. Staying and slaying at an all-inclusive resort with Buffy sounds like Faith’s dream come true. The catch? The location is a honeymoon resort, meaning Faith and Buffy have to go undercover as a newlywed couple while they investigate.
Or: Faith Lehane has rings on her left hand that say Buffy is hers, except this whole marriage thing is only temporary and, worse than that, it isn’t even real.

Faith knows that she isn’t getting a taste of anything she’ll get to keep, and she accepts that. If Buffy had ever given her a chance, Faith knew it would’ve been temporary. Just a hook-up. But at least there would be proof that Buffy wanted Faith, even if it was for one night only. The real gut punch here is the fact that as close as she and Buffy are going to be during the next week, absolutely none of it is real. It’ll mean everything to Faith, and nothing to the woman currently asleep (and quite possibly drooling) on Faith's shoulder.
And that, more than anything else, is going to be Faith’s undoing.

No, Shauna wants to say, no she does not, and has never had a car. But she can’t. Because right in plain sight, Shauna is holding the keys that she literally just dug out of her fucking pocket with a death grip that digs painfully into her palm. She would think it was deliberate, that Nat waited for Shauna to prove her Ford Festiva bonafides for this very moment. But by the way Nat is swaying with a nervous, glassy eyed energy, she doesn’t think Nat could think that far in advance.
“I do,” Shauna sighs out, trying not to just blow her off. She likes being nice to Nat, because every time someone is nice to her, she looks kinda surprised. Shauna finds it charming, and as repressed and closeted as she is, she has to take the opportunity to make a girl blush when she can get it.
Nat nods, chewing on her lip as if she isn't sure she wants to say what she's going to say next. But eventually she does, shifting from one foot to another with a low hum of anxiety. “Cool, great. Uh, I’m fucking starving. Wanna get out of here? Grab somethin’ to eat?”

She turns and stomps away towards the sliding doors at the back of Jackie's fittingly large house, hands buried deep in the pockets of her black leather bomber.
Tai levels Van with wide eyes, smirking.
"A parachute? Does that mean she's.. falling.. for Lottie?" She clutches a hand to her heart and swoons dramatically across Van's lap, earning a swift punch to the arm for her theatrics.
"Shut up, T." Van giggles, taking a sip of her beer, fingers dancing across the collar of Tai's sweater where it lay against her chest. "Let them figure it out by themselves."

Van is suddenly pivoted around, so they’re standing directly face-to-face.
