A heavy sigh falls from King Masaru as he shakes his head. He rubs his forehead and puts his quill down. “Katsuki, son, I can not just get rid of the boy because you do not like him.”
The subject of who they are talking about doesn’t even need to be brought up. Katsuki doesn’t have many people to complain about these days, at least not for him to approach his father about, and his father must have predicted this conflict would come up. Perhaps, he specifically placed Izuku in the library just to get a rise out of Katsuki.
Katsuki stops just a foot from his desk, fists clenched. “Well, why not?”

Katsuki does not appreciate the new guest (Izuku) his father has invited to stay in the palace and will try everything to make sure Izuku knows how much he hates him. When he goes too far, however, his guilt catches up to him, and he and Izuku spend time together doing the thing they both love: studying.

When Izuku found his room again, he could hear music behind the door- loud, with lots of screaming and guitars. His heart sunk a little, but he tried not to pass judgement too quickly. The guy inside was alone right now, after all. He’d probably use headphones once he met his new roommate, right? Izuku took a deep breath and twisted the doorknob, pushing it open as casually as he could to hide his nerves. He thought about the greeting he'd rehearsed in the mirror earlier today.
“Hey! I didn’t see you here earlier! It's nice to meet you, I’m--” Izuku froze in the doorway, the other man in the room mirroring him. He was holding up a sweater, clearly in the middle of putting it on a hanger when Izuku had barged in. Izuku had been preparing for a lot of possibilities behind the door, but this was not on his list.
Blond, spiky hair, and eyes like fire with a temperament to match. Katsuki Bakugou, undoubtedly.

After all, he was the one who faced One for All and trained alongside the quirk the most. He knew what the six other quirks and reaction times were like and how Izuku fought. That was the second and much nobler reason Katsuki convinced himself for moving to America.
When the late nights with no sleep and working overtime to fund the suit got tiring, Katsuki would slump against a wall. He’d knock his forehead into the brick and tell himself that Izuku deserves this. He deserves to be a hero the most out of everyone. No amount of unrequited feelings on Katsuki’s end would stop him from giving Izuku the quirk and dream he should’ve been granted from the beginning.
Still, he knows he's a shit friend, student, and son for disappearing without a word.

“You’re not getting married,” argues Shouto, arching a perfect eyebrow. “You don’t have to be made for each other. You’re just living in the same place.”
