Lena's favorite game on paper is chess. In reality, her favorite game is whatever is set up on Kara's living room table. Jenga, Life, Scrabble, it didn't matter which one was out, it become her favorite.
Since their fall out and the start of their tentative reconnection, Lena hasn't felt ready to accept Kara's invites to game night so her favorite game, on paper and in her new reality, is chess.
OR Lena invites Kara over for a one on one game night to rebuild their friendship through a game of chess.

Summary
Obviously Eivor had blatantly placed them there. Places where she knew was reserved only for Randvi’s eyes and heart, left there as waves of disappointment rush through EIvor’s heart. It’s that she wishes that she could be there to see Randvi wake, and to kiss her again when Randvi is conscious enough to reciprocate her loving murmurs of “Good morning”.

Eivor couldn’t have ever imagined the way Randvi makes her feel right now with a simple touch of skin against skin. She feels dizzy, like the first time Hytham took her across the river and told her to jump off a cliff and just have faith. Flushed, heart pounding, but more grounded than she had ever thought she could be, perfectly present in the moment with this woman.
OR; Eivor tells Randvi she feels the same way and the scene doesn't end there.

He’s good-looking and confident, a battle-hardened drengr through and through. And he’s handsome in a boyish, almost vulnerable sort of way. Vili is everything she’s not, or more precisely, everything she wasn’t allowed to be after her father made a deal with the Raven Clan: bold, fierce in battle, someone to distract from near constant distraction and perhaps most importantly, he’s not married to Eivor’s brother.
OR; The Raven Clan welcomes Vili, Eivor is drunk and Randvi is seething with jealousy.

When she looked at Eivor, fly-aways spilling out of her braid and smelling of the sea, bleary eyed and still in thrall’s clothes, she was filled with an overwhelming sense of relief. (There was something else, too; she burned sweetly with it, and perhaps she would finally allow herself to call it as it was, soon.) “You look like shit.”
(While Eivor is away in Vinland, Randvi manages what the drengr has left behind and comes to an acceptance of who her home has always been with.)
