Summary
Sometimes, when you've wanted something you can't have for a couple million years, having it in reach makes things harder. Sometimes you've been fighting the urge for so long you can't remember how not to to fight it. Sometimes it takes a little help from someone who has more practice giving you what you need.
(It's like if your best friend and your crush's best friend set you up on a date because you were too awkward to do it yourself, and then had to come provide moral support on the date. Except with BDSM.
I have provided a chart of the relationships, in case the situation sounds confusing or you want to see a really good chart. It contains a certain amount of spoilers for chapter three, but only in terms of detailing the relationship dynamics for the remainder of the fic.)

Summary
The war is over, the treaties are signed, the Galactic Council is pacified. Megatron sits on a balcony and broods. Optimus is completely fine actually, his new job is great, and anyway, it's Megatron who needs help. Soundwave refuses to help. Starscream and Bumblebee are co-consuls. Rumble and Frenzy are in prison. Ultra Magnus is doing his best. Above them all in Cybertron's slowly healing atmosphere, clouds form and break.
A story about fighting for peace, about giving up everything you have for love, and then having to live with it. About being a soldier when there’s no war left to fight.
Peace, in the end, did not involve the total subjugation of the galaxy to Megatron's iron will. He did not tear down the galactic council to lay its ruins at Optimus' feet as his act of profferance. He did not end all war or rid the world of falsehood. He did not establish a tyranny so complete that no one remained to call it tyranny.
Peace, in the end, did not involve him much at all.

There are a lot of things Optimus has forgotten since he was found half-dead in the wasteland. Most of his life, for one. His friends. The war he's fighting. Whatever it is that gives him the strength to get up every day and keep fighting it. But the more of his life he starts to relearn, the more sure he is that there's something else missing. Why won't anyone tell him what it is?
Megatron. His friends had mentioned that name by now, or recorded it in the files they gave him, but it came to him then from older memories. The part of his brain that knew his enemy flickered back to life, casting everything into a fresh light.
He didn't need to hear the feed to know what Megatron was saying. He didn't need Megatron to say it at all. He could hear it in his own spark. Get out there and stop him.

Optimus has perfectly normal feelings about medical exams. Totally unremarkable. So what if it's been three million years since he had a complete examination? He doesn't have anything to hide, he's just busy. And no one likes having their interface array examined. No one.
I'm going to have kinks there aren't even words for, Optimus thought vaguely. He was going to spend the rest of existence longing for someone to frag him in reverse, working their way from the ends of his valve to the start, not stretching but pressing, sensors firing in ways that nothing else would ever replicate. It was hard to be worried about that when it felt so good.

Summary
Pharma is on Messatine, feeling lonely and abandoned, when Tarn arrives in the dead of night with an offer he can't refuse. With Tarn's threats hanging over his head, Pharma tries to take matters into his own hands. Years later, the war is over and Ratchet is on Cybertron, trying to get their first new hospital up and running. Pharma agrees to be the head of surgery but Ratchet sees little of the mech he remembers. The new Pharma is paranoid, unpredictable, and definitely hiding something.
Or, in the words of my beta reader: Pharma deals with Tarn in the past and Ratchet deals with Pharma in the present.
This fic is only loosely connected to Lesser Evil and was written essentially as a stand-alone.

Megatron WANTS to get tied down. He LIKES getting tied down. He likes the way that Optimus is touching him and he likes the things Optimus is saying and he likes the nice hard fragging he's going to get. These are good things that he asked for. The fact that Megatron keeps threatening to break Optimus' hands shouldn't concern you. His repeated attempts to break out of these ropes are a totally intentional part of the scene. Obviously.
