Summary
The machine code enters Harold's body. This is my vision of what happened at the end of season four. I wrote the original 9 chapters before season five aired and I still like this outcome better!

Summary
Reese is an incubus that Finch summons by mistake.
The wizard isn’t at all what John expected. He’s slight, with a beakish nose, pale eyes behind thick-rimmed glasses, and receding hair that stands up straight like it’s surprised. In his brown three-piece suit, he looks like a teacher at an old-fashioned boys’ school. But it isn’t his nebbishy appearance that throws John—it’s his expression. Most summoners greet him with a leer or a blush; this man looks, well, baffled.

"You have to stop pushing him or he just might listen to you. You can’t –”
“I can do whatever I please, Ms. Groves,” Harold says harshly with emphasis on the name Root hates. “Why shouldn’t he escape this?”[Harold tries to push John away during season 5 to give him a real life, but...]

Summary
A World War II AU in which Finch and Reese meet in England and work to defeat Nazi Germany.
Finch took his first long, hard look at the man who would (perhaps) be guarding him. He was worth a look; or two or three, Harold thought. In fact, if he'd been less wary, he would've been tempted to stare openly at the young soldier. Sgt. John Mars of the SAS was tall and broad-shouldered, with dark hair and deep-set blue eyes, high, elegant cheekbones, a square jaw and sensual mouth. He looked strong and capable, and he was also strikingly handsome.

Summary
"So you're a friend of Harold's, then?" Grace asks, a few intersections later, and John nearly laughs hysterically at that, because barely three hours ago, he was pressing Harold against the wall of a secret government facility, licking into his mouth with shuddering desperation.
John forces a smile and a nod.
“I’m glad that you’re looking out for him,” Grace says.
“You don’t know me,” John says, and it comes out more accusatory than intended.
Grace traces the path of a raindrop on the glass with her index finger.
“Harold does,” she says. “That’s good enough for me.”

Summary
"His attraction to Harold had come as a surprise, but by no means an unpleasant one. After all the dark, soul-numbing deeds he'd committed during those bleak years with the Agency it was a wonder he was still capable of feeling affection at all, and he'd indulged shamelessly in the intoxicating buzz of his new infatuation. But more quickly than he could have imagined his little flirtation had evolved into something much more profound."
The quest to save a famous anthropologist becomes a very personal mission...

Prompt: They fall in to a habit of having sex after certain numbers, sex that is never discussed and treated like it never happened.
Pile on the angst and pining on either side or both, as it gets to be too much for one of them who finally says no.

Totally amazing. I love that you've written this piece to capture and remind us of the depths of...of soul? heart? within both John and Harold.

Summary
John's eyes are unreadable in the lack of light, but his posture is easy, relaxed. An offer, one that Harold is welcome to take, more so for the fact that he wouldn't readily ask for it. Not out loud, anyway, because that would be crude; but he can ask like this, not a word needed, spelled out between them in a code of their own making.

Summary
Harold, of course, wasn’t one for taking pictures of himself. However, he had discovered an unexpected blind spot in the Machine’s range of vision, in the Metropolitan Museum of Art. It was a curious place for the Machine not to have a visual, and apparently it knew it, and to Harold’s chagrin refused to acknowledge that Harold had entered the building at all.
