Summary
A tired Jaina lingers in Icecrown after Arthas’ defeat, wandering aimlessly until she finds herself drawn to the top of the citadel. Through the snow and mist she sees someone standing at the edge. Dangerously close.
As implied by the title, this is an alternate take on the Warcraft short story ’Edge of Night’.

Summary
Between the mana bomb, Aegwynn, and everything else absolutely crazy in her life, Jaina wasn’t sure why she wasn’t aging, just that she wasn’t. Confiding this in Vereesa leads to her spending time at Windrunner Spire. Unexpectedly, the renovated and remodeled spire isn’t just home to Vereesa and her boys, or even Alleria and Arator, but also to their last (un)living relative that Jaina has not seen since the realm of death.
Sylvanas has kept to herself since then, along with her conflicting feelings about the other part of her soul, but between Jaina's arrival and the Amani threat she won't be able to continue her melancholic solitude.

Summary
"“Tides, Jaina- look at us!” Vereesa gestured to the miserable huddle of elves around her, “One sharp breeze and we practically keel over, we simply don’t do cold- why do you think we are so tactile as a race, we need this to survive.”
Well. That explained a lot actually. The way Vereesa and her rangers always bunked together, how they constantly were touching a shoulder or an arm, sometimes simply burying a face into the crook of another’s neck. While it was partially true that they were all incredibly close, soldiers in arms for centuries, they most likely did it for the simple fact of keeping out the cold.
Did Sylvanas miss it- that tactile closeness? Did she share that need for social and physical comfort amongst her rangers or did she deny herself that simple pleasure as she did everything else. Somehow Jaina suspected it was the latter."
Summary: Set with a task of overseeing the building of permanent garrisons along the frigid borders of Dun Morogh Jaina ponders the tactile nature of elves and wonders if Sylvanas misses it.

Summary
The war has not gone well for anyone. The Alliance has three months left before collapse. The Horde is not much better off. With neither victory or death as options, Sylvanas proposes an alternative. A treaty, to ease tensions and open borders, with a political hostage to ensure that both sides stay in line. A marriage with many political implications and Sylvanas would only accept one person. Jaina Proudmoore.
And Jaina Proudmoore made for the perfect hostage. If the Alliance moves wrong, Jaina dies. The Horde attacks, and Jaina reduces Orgrimmar to a wisp of a memory in the minds of children.
Of course, no one expected Sylvanas and Jaina to be anything more than uneasy partners with each other, least of all Sylvanas and Jaina...
