Summary
The world beyond the borders of Paris is dangerous: monsters known as Akuma roam free at the behest of their creator, the Queen, and are a constant threat to the survival of humanity and magic alike. Once a year, a mission departs upriver with one goal in mind: to kill the Queen.
No mission has ever succeeded. Humanity has been in a stalemate against the Queen for longer than anyone can remember, with no hope in sight.
