Summary
When a young asakuasan woman is found heavily injured, fighting off unknown assailants alone upon her return from what was supposed to have been a group research expedition into the unknown wasteland of the world left behind by the great cataclysm which birthed the empire of the holy sol church. The Captain of the newly formed official Fire Force Company 7 of Asakusa, a district which steadfastly opposes the reign of the empire's religious ideology, takes it upon himself to care for her recovery where they get to redefine their sporadic childhood friendship into adulthood.
From there the responsibility of an entire town balances with the complications that personal relationships bring with them as they feel their friendship shift into unknown territory.
But with the constant threat of spontaneous human combustion looming and opposing forces targeting the rebellious Asakusa evermore, the inherent violence never stops.A story of having to learn how to re-integrate into an alternative community at odds with the greater society of an ideologically different empire after years of isolation in violent conditions and the growing pains that come with that.
