Summary
The next day in class, Kageyama watched Hinata’s mouth as he chewed on the end of his pen. Even his mouth was cute. Even his pen was cute. It was sky blue with little clouds dotted across it, and Kageyama thought about Hinata seeing it in the store and deciding to buy it.
He thought about Hinata looking through pens and pencils and other school supplies, picking out what he would take with him to high school. He thought about Hinata fishing through his wallet and getting excited about having just enough to buy the things he wanted. He thought about Hinata walking home with his shopping bag knocking into his ankles and a skip in his step.
“-geyama. Kageyama. Kageyama!”
Kageyama jumped and looked up. His teacher was standing at the front of the class, glaring at him. “Um, yes?”
“Can you give us the answer to number 4?”

Hinata babbled on. “Natsu’s just so annoying sometimes. Everyone comes over and is like, ‘But oh, she’s so cute!’ and, well... yeah, but that doesn’t mean she doesn’t like pushing all my buttons, you know? I mean, this is the third time she stole my blue furoshiki, so I had to wrap my bento with her stupid cat one!”
Kageyama’s hands knotted up in the bottom hem of his shorts. “Little sisters are the worst,” he tried.
Hinata’s nose scrunched up, and Kageyama’s stomach threatened to tie itself in knots. That had been the wrong thing to say. “Well, she’s not the worst,” Hinata corrected. Kageyama felt stupid for speaking up.

He's infuriating, he's rude, but he's also warm and soft sometimes, when he's slumped against Hinata's shoulder on the bus, when he's the person on the team who ruffles Hinata's hair.

“Are those soba noodles?” Kirishima asked.
Again Bakugou’s only reply was a grunt. He offered no further explanation—not that Kirishima honestly expected one—as though making soba noodles from scratch at half past four in the morning wasn’t at all a bizarre occurrence and made complete and total sense. For a fleeting moment, Kirishima even wondered if maybe he was the odd one here. Besides, he’d already decided it was generally not in his best interest to question these types of things with Bakugou, especially when it was something essentially harmless.
When Kirishima has a nightmare and is unable to fall back asleep, he accepts defeat and decides to study in the common area of the dorms. What he doesn't expect to find is Bakugou, also very much awake, and Kirishima can't help but think that maybe they're both having the same problems with sleeping. If he's worried, it's just because they're friends. (Right?)

He knew that wasn’t the case. He knew he could easily look back over the past few years—months—hell, even weeks—and see how far he’d come, the long strides of progress he’d made. Still, there seemed to be so many days when he could boil down his own turmoil so simply and he wasn’t sure if that made it all better or worse, to know that it could be summed up in one singular word.
Enough.
Kirishima never felt like he was enough.
Everyone needs some comfort, every once in a while. Kirishima is usually the first one to offer help to his friends, but what about when he's the one in need of reassurance?
