Summary
Sometimes, Violet was foolish enough to think about what her family would be like if they weren't separated. If mama wasn't a human and if Malgor didn't leave, and if Cyrus wasn't so keen on running away from everyone else other than her. Then, other times she thought it was good that they ran, that they didn't try to face the truth of what their father did. Cyrus, however, thought running was the best thing to do. People stop trying to chase after you when you've done it so long, and Cyrus was willing to do it forever if it meant protecting Violet. But in the end, family always finds you, and it seemed as if Violet and Cyrus could never run fast enough. Blood is thicker than water, after all.

Summary
This is Part 2 of my series "The Ingalirion." It will probably be boring and stupid if you haven't read "The Gift," so start there. This story will be lightly canon divergent in a couple of ways. 1) It's Thorin's time to shine, and Ingalir will hopefully be able to help him do better this time. 2) I'm doing some timeline accordion work. The "main plot," what I think of as the story only Gandalf can see, remains basically the same. But if, say, I need something in the hobbits' timeline (when Bilbo was born, etc) to intersect with a different point in the dwarven timeline, I'm just going to let that happen because it makes my story more compelling. I hope it won't be too confusing; I'll be using specific anchors for Ingalir to indicate passage of time, and I'm omitting year references since I'm being so abusive to the timeline.
Thank you to all the wonderful readers who encouraged me through the messiness of "The Gift." It genuinely means so much to me that others enjoy this story that is essentially just me wanting to hang out in Rivendell and see how they do things.
