Summary
It’s about a week after the funeral, when Eddie and Christopher are all settled in, that they’re cooking dinner (Buck as chef, Eddie as sous chef) and Eddie asks out of the blue, “Are you getting back together with Tommy?”
It’s literally the last thing Buck ever expected Eddie to ask, so it’s no surprise he drops the spoon he’s holding.

Summary
Lucy nods solemnly. She looks across to Buck. “So does that make us the lucky ones or the unfortunate ones?”
Buck’s eyebrows furrow. “What do you mean?”
“We don’t have kids, so we’re lucky we don’t have to worry about what this job might do to them. But we’re unfortunate not to have that added reminder of how precious life can be. Not that I’m itching to have kids. Not even sure if I want them at all.”
Buck’s brain sticks on something, but he can’t quite place it. Until Hen says something that gets right to the heart of it, as usual.
“Buck has a kid.”
All eyes turn to Hen, a mix of surprise and confusion from all parties.

Summary
It's just that easy. Except the world tries to make it really hard and get into your head and make you blind to the truth.
The one where Eddie talks to his parents as part of his therapy homework and realizes some pretty obvious truths along the way.

Summary
Eddie thinks that if Buck leaves tonight, all of this will be over. And they’ll start to drift apart. And eventually they’ll just be co-workers. Buck will come by and take Christopher to the zoo or park every once in awhile, but gone will be the regular movie nights and family dinners. This will be the straw that broke the camel’s back.
And Eddie can’t let that happen. It also doesn’t help that Buck’s breath on his neck is doing something to his stomach he’s never felt before. Not even with Shannon. All the blood rushes from his head and he’s pretty sure the whiskey’s also hitting him hard.
