Didn’t think he was the 9 to 5 type. Anyway, he’s all fine and I gave him your number, he said he’d spread it to the others when he got the chance. So, um… yeah. Call me back when you can. Bye.”
Five listened to the message three times in total, his brother’s voice bouncing off the crooked walls. When it ended, the silence crept back in like a heavy fog until Five could remember he was sitting in a darkened, shabby room, utterly alone.
He needed something to drink.

Five gets a new job, a new life a new universe. Then why did it feel like nothing had changed at all?Everything that happened after the Hargreeves were blown into a new reality, told through messages on Five's answering machine. None of which he'd answer, of course. Just being around his family could put their new lives at risk- the further he could keep, the safer they'd be. It was better that way.

after the absolute travesty that was s4 I really needed someone to rewrite it into not a shit show and this fic truly delivered. this is what I wished they had shown us in the season, then navigating being a family in this strange new world, especially five's struggles and adaptations. thank fuck Lila is faithful in this and thank fuck five isn't a homewrecker!

“Yeah, I know that too.”
“No, I mean– I get kicked off of your insurance plan in three months. I am so screwed,” Beomgyu groaned.
“You either have to move out of the country or get married,” Yeonjun said grimly. The little white rectangle of his phone screen was reflected in his eyes. “At least, those are the two most viable options.
“I hate to break it to you, hyung, but no one’s going to marry me. I’m totally fucked.”“I’ll marry you.” Beomgyu nearly dropped his phone at the sound of Taehyun’s voice. Yeonjun turned the phone around so that Taehyun’s face showed up on the screen. He waved. “Hi, Beomgyu hyung. I’ll marry you, problem solved.”

I love canon divergent fics like these, the what if five never got stuck in the apocalypse fics are always top tier. for one reason bc that almost always means Ben will also be alive :') it's so interesting how Reginald manipulated five here, how five played double agent in the commission. Ben!! loved him as a psychologist, I just know everytime he's around his siblings he's silently diagnosing them in his head. I really love how they all came together at the end and just like I love the Hargreeves dawg I love them

SO GOOD!!! with season 4 rapidly approaching my umbrella academy brainrot has reawakened. this is such a creative idea and I really love how it was executed. the whole theme of family, with Diego not giving up on getting Five back, with the others all coming back to help Five return, with Diego and Lila's DAUGHTER ARE YOU KIDDING ME, it's so special to me. I really love this take on Diego after season 3 I just. he's such a girl dad HE IS he's gonna spoil that girl rotten I love him.

what if I threw up from crying so much. are you kidding me. to have the career that you worked for for half your life ripped so violently from your hands, then to build yourself back up and continue on as best you can....I can't even imagine.
I loved seeing each of them, their new lives, in this world. Everything felt so fitting, so them, it was wonderful and devastating all at once.
A contract goes unsigned, an ending looms, and Yeonjun’s big hands cup his cheeks. We’ll stay together, he promises. We’ll be okay, Kai whispers in the dark of their shared bedroom. Taehyun only believes one of them.

Summary
Spencer has been having the dreams almost as long as he can remember.
They started out vaguely, simply bloody and strange, images of people he loved being hurt. After he joined the BAU, they became more specific. His subconscious woke in images of the cases he had worked, the bodies he’d seen. There were months at a time when he hardly slept, trying to stave off the images of death. It never worked.
He knows that most people in his line of work have nightmares, but it's not the same. Anyone would imagine their family being hurt. Anyone would be afraid of failing to protect them.
In Spencer’s dreams, he is always the one holding the knife.
(In which Reid and Morgan figure things out, eventually, it just takes a while)

Everyone says that, and he never understands why. As if it's the most important thing, to be happy, rather than to be useful and making a difference in the world. As if it's something that he can will himself into, anyway, or guarantee for himself. Thinking you deserve to be happy is what leads people to do things like take painkillers they haven't been prescribed, or worse. Happiness isn't mandatory. You can live without it.
well no! that's not it at all! I'm so glad he changes his opinion by the end everyone say thank you Morgan.
“Really?” Spencer says.
Morgan laughs. “Yes, really,” he says. “What kind of profiler are you?”
“Wait a second,” Spencer says, and scrambles to his feet. “I have something for you too.”
He fumbles through his bag for the envelope and presses it into Morgan’s hand, sitting down again cross-legged next to him.
Morgan opens in slowly, and looks almost confused. “You got me hockey tickets?” he says.
“I was hoping we could go together,” Spencer says in a rush. “Because you like it and I picked a day of the year statistically unlikely to be the date of any major crimes and I thought it could be a, a date. I love you too. By the way.”
Morgan kisses him, slow and sweet, and Spencer has never been more sure of anything.
“I know,” he says. “What kind of profiler do you think I am?”

He drew lines with his eyes from the cue ball to the others and from there to the pocket, letting his mind slip into the pure math that was the true base of pool. He could sink the 6 and the 5 in one shot. He knew the angle, knew how much spin he had to give both balls, knew how much force to exert down to the third decimal.
“Hey, pretty boy,” Morgan called from across the table, leaning on his pool cue and smirking. Reid glared at him - he was distracting and Reid didn’t want to have to do the math over. “They’re not gonna sink themselves.”

hello?? literally my first ever zb1 fic and it was a fucking banger?? this has spurred me to watch a guide to zb1 that's how you know i am seated
the plot itself was just incredible. so engaging and cool as hell, every moment was full of tension and ever mounting dread. the burgeoning romance throughout it all (plus the multiple other romances) added so many heartwrenching, emotional, beautiful scenes. when zhanghao begs the camera and the viewers to save hanbin AND MATTHEW WAS FUCKING WATCHING HIM AGH. ALSO WHEN TAERAE FUCKING DIED????? YOU'RE JOKING. I'M FUCKING THROWING UP LIKE WDYM THEY KISSED FOR THE FIRST TIME LITERAL MOMENTS BEFORE TAERAE DIES.
