“No, I’ve taken care of the issue myself. Adora won’t be going back to the Rebellion. She won’t even try.”

“And why’s that? Sudden change of heart? Another morality crisis?”

    “Because she won’t remember them.”

Or: Shadow Weaver’s plan in Mystacor actually succeeds, and she makes sure Adora won’t ever want to leave again.
Or: Catra gets everything she’s ever wanted.
    Or: Does she?

(or: AU where Shadow Weaver gets Adora back early s1 and wipes her mind of She-Ra and the rebellion)

i barely have words to explain how much joy this brought me and how much this reminded me of everything i love about these two and how they interact, how insufferable and stubborn they can be around each other, their conflicting worldviews and perceptions of events. and also how they are so much lighter together, how much fun they have even when they are terribly annoyed. just everything about them. you know. <3 <3 <3

    Summary

Unthinking Adora leans forward to tuck a loose tendril of hair behind Catra’s ear. Catra stills. Her ears and tail go rigid with anxiety, and it’s only then that Adora realizes how much Catra’s hair has grown in the last few months. At this length, pushed back behind her ears, it reminds Adora of…

She remembers the shock of seeing Catra’s hair, shorn and slicked back, on Horde Prime’s ship. She had never seen Catra’s hair that short in her life — and if she had, it would have been when they were too young for her to remember.

Without it, she had seemed so small.

“I’m sorry,” Adora says, snatching her hand back. “I didn’t mean to, I—”

“It’s fine,” says Catra. She runs a hand through her hair, effectively dislodging the piece that Adora has just brushed down. She catches Adora’s hand in hers and says, “If it’s you, it’s fine.”

    Summary

Catra, deemed "useless" by Hordak, is shipped off to Beast Island. After managing to escape, she finds something she never thought she'd have. A place of her own. A proper home. A mother.
Oh, and apparently she's a princess. Well, isn't that ironic.
    .
Adora, having learned of Catra's banishment, is determined to get her friend back. Whatever that takes.

    Summary

Huntara shrugged her boulder of a shoulder. “She’s cute enough. Not bad to talk to. We just run out of stuff to say to each other all the time.”

“Maybe that’s a sign that you shouldn’t date,” Catra pointed out, taking her own life into her hands.

Huntara just gave her a condescending laugh. “You’re not exactly knuckle-deep in girls so you don’t get to judge. Has anyone ever even asked you out?”

Yes. Once, at least. It felt ironic to bring that up in this particular conversation so Catra just moved forward.

“But what the shit does this have to do with me then?” Catra asked, desperately wanting to be far away from this conversation and anything to do with the topic of Adora Gray.

    “You write good.”

“Well,” Catra corrected in a bit of a daze. She was starting to have a terrible feeling about where this might be going.

“And well,” Huntara repeated, letting the point float completely over her giant mohawked head, “You can write out what I should say to her.”

    Summary

Catra has yet to pick up her jaw from the footwell, but stomps on the gas nonetheless, narrowly missing some minivan as she pulls onto the street. It takes at least a minute for Catra’s brain to reboot and realise what is happening. Adora is in her car. On her wedding day. Driving away from her wedding. Adora is a runaway bride.
“Holy shit, you’re a runaway bride,” Catra says when she regains the ability to speak.
“I just left my wedding,” Adora says, the implications suddenly dawning on her. “I just left my wedding! Why did I do that!”
    ---
It's the day of Adora's wedding. To someone who isn't Catra. Catra (obviously) is fine and deals with this in a totally healthy and normal way.
