Summary
The leader stepped forward, and the betas flanking him moved further out to the side to keep a clear line of fire on Max without impeding the alpha’s progress. The alpha’s nostrils flared and his advancing steps stuttered, pausing and then resuming twice as fast. Max felt a sick little swoop in his belly, grim satisfaction that his plan was working mixed with an awareness of what that would mean for him later. Guns down, gentlemen. Oscar protocol.
The betas lowered their rifles instantly, pointing them at the ground in front of Max instead of his chest. Max took a deeper breath in, his tension easing a bit as he moved past the part of the plan where he might just get shot dead before he had a chance to try to bargain. It had always been a risk; it had just seemed like a better death than slow starvation.
The alpha stepped closer, looking him over. He was a big man, but also quiet, light on his feet. Max tipped his chin up. It was a gesture of submission, and it showed that his neck was bare. No bonding bites, no competing claims. The added vulnerability made him tremble a little harder, but it was worth it for the way the alpha zeroed in on his throat.

dawg. rare mpreg bookmark because this was just too HOLYYYYY GAHHHH
post-apocalyptic (virus) which kinda scrambled the mc’s brain and he doesn’t speak in the same language or way? Or understand language the same so it’s an interesting communication barrier. There’re also pack dynamics, but moreso for the sake for an interesting hierarchy. great short fic with awesome worldbuilding (esp considering how short it is) and it’s fairly…sweet? more savory?

Decepticon CMO Rachet. I adore fics that explore the decepticon cause from a sympathetic lens as we watch their initally genuine rhetoric crumble from the inside out. Loves the lines about Rachet and the empurata’s, and Rachet unwittingly being consumed by decepticon rhetoric and Megatrons charisma, growing less and less critical of the atrocities taking place. And I swear Starscream knows. Wish this spent a bit more time on the ending, but the first half is worth EVERYTHING

HOLY. this series is absolutely brilliant. made me obsessed with Rung. Please this poor CMO is carrying the decepticon faction’s mental health on his back ALONE (well, agate’s here too). Lots of interesting ideas discussed in here, cold construction, frame dysphoria, heathy outlets and power dynamics. the emotional beats hit HARD and the neuropsychological lens that Rung provides is so interesting! This author produces the BEST rung stuff（＾Ｏ＾☆♪
Underrated series. Also got me hooked on prowl & starscream’s scheming relationship.
