She spoke from the corner of her mouth, hissing, “Whoever you are, please pretend to be my date right now. My ex is coming, and if I face him alone, I might kill him.”
“Excuse me?”
“Didn’t you hear me?” She whispered furiously, turning to finally look at whoever she’d grabbed. “I said –” she cut off, words hitching in her throat as she clocked just who exactly she had demanded false affection from. Her eyes hesitated over his left eye; small, red, and filmed over, surrounded by shiny mottled skin, before they took in the whole of his face.
Zuko Agni, heir to Agni Enterprises, organizer of this event, the man who had mysteriously disappeared from the public eye conspicuously at thirteen, only to return a decade later, permanently disfigured in some incident purported to have involved a lighter, gasoline, and teenage rebellion. Right in front of her. Coat sleeve crushed between her fingers.

Summary
Years after the war ended, everyone has gone their separate ways. A call for help comes from the South Pole and involves spirits, which means the whole GAang agrees to go. Katara, who has spent the last year being truly alone for the first time in her life, jumps at the opportunity to see everyone again. Especially when Katara assumes that they'll be stuck indoors the first day with an approaching storm on the horizon.
But nothing ever goes as planned.
Katara and Zuko end up further in the snowfields when the storm hits and have to make a shelter. But it's tight quarters and a long time since they've been close.

Uncle gave a hearty laugh which made Zuko feel guilty for getting crunched up petals and a sprinkle of blood on his robes. “It’s okay! I got used to this when Lu Ten had his first crush!” Zuko buried his head in his hands and wanted to die a quick, painful death.
Zuko doesn’t want to tell Katara how he truly feels about her, but after contracting a disease that makes him puke flowers every time she makes his heart skip a beat, he may not have a choice in the matter.
