Kaeya wouldn’t say getting whacked across the head was one of his favorite past times, but he would concede to it not being all that bad. He’s definitely had worse. Worse as in; short-termed blindness, internal bleeding, and/or the loss of feeling in, hm, about every nerve ending.
But head injuries? Kaeya could practically laugh at the symptoms. What, a few headaches, some dizziness, maybe nausea or fatigue? Well, all that was about as bad as a particularly aggressive hangover.
Yes, Kaeya didn’t normally mind head injuries, except this one decided to leave him a special treat- one that left a bad taste in his mouth.
Kaeya wakes up 24 hours after getting banged upside the head with a magical polearm, and for some reason, has blood red hair, pale skin, and a pair of embers for eyes.
Bad taste, indeed.

Venti can pinpoint the instant that Zhongli sees Kaeya’s star-shaped pupil and makes the connection to the land they both helped destroy. His friend is good at hiding his emotions, but it’s easy to attribute his silence to shock.
Zhongli’s hand twitches upward.
Venti is quick to lightly step in front of Kaeya, trusting his tense smile to convey his warning. The wind sharpens momentarily, swirling at their feet.
Zhongli’s hand stops and he takes on a pensive look, gaze flitting from Venti to Kaeya. He closes his eyes after a few seconds and hums, relaxing. “I see,” he murmurs.
Venti accompanies Kaeya and his knights on a diplomatic trip to Liyue; no matter what happens, he can’t allow his friend to meet the Geo Archon. After all, what would Zhongli say if he knew that Venti was willingly harbouring a Khaenri’ahn ex-spy in his city gates? With the added threat of a perpetual shadow looming over them, he has to make sure everything goes smoothly.
Of course, things don’t go as planned.

Kaeya walked into the Dawn Winery, predicting Adelinde coming up and bowing, being all polite before telling him, “The young master is upstairs in the master bedroom.” And he would hop up the stairs, skipping a step each time, before walking down the hall. Everytime he paused in front of the door, taking a deep breath. Then he would open the door to see Diluc.

Summary
Years ago, the city of Mondstadt and Liyue broke into a war, leaving thousands of its people injured and dead. The two nations swore to never make contact with eachother again, no trades or any sort of visiting made.
Miraculously, a young boy named Kaeya is saved in the aftermath of it, being taken home by the man who's Mondstadt's leader, Crepus. Diluc, a young knight in training, is ecstatic on having a new little brother.
A few years later, a mission Diluc's assigned by Eroch to go to Liyue, doesn't realise that everything's going to change for him and his brother.

Dottore smirked, tossing the Delusion high up into the air. Its mesmerizing red glow captivated Diluc's attention up until the moment it reached its peak. His vision faded to black before it landed.
"...That there's potential for resurrection."

He didn't anticipate meeting an enigmatic blue haired kid with eyes that shone like diamonds in the moonlight. And he most definitely didn't anticipate the way his life would change in a few short months.
