Vi hummed noncommittally. “At times."
“That’s why you’re dressed like that, right?” Caitlyn gestured to Vi’s get up.
Vi raised a thick brow as she hopped up onto Caitlyn’s desk. “I dress like this,” she emphasized with her own gesture. “Because I’m not a tool.”
“Could have fooled me.” Caitlyn huffed under her breath.
“You know,” Vi spoke, her voice booming. “Lying to a special agent is a federal crime, detective.”
“Good thing I didn’t lie then.”
Caitlyn is a detective with the Piltover Police. She is determined to solve the shimmer distribution case to push her career forward.
Vi is an FBI agent specializing in gang relations. She has just been assigned to Caitlyn's case.
Things go about as well as would be expected.

Summary
Caitlyn meets a time traveling Vi from the future, who she then learns is her future wife. When she later meets the present day Vi, calling her surprised would be an understatement. Her future wife was an enforcer. This Vi is a criminal. She’s rude, and gruff, and sharp-edged. And she doesn’t seem to like Caitlyn very much. Not that Caitlyn is feeling much warmer towards her either.
Did the future Vi get it wrong? Or is there something Caitlyn is missing? She doesn’t know how to reckon with this frustratingly obstinate Zaunite being the same Piltover enforcer who visited her from the future.

“Holy shiiit…” Lan Jingyi manages to pick his jaw off the floor. “Is that Jin Ling?!”
Lan Sizhui’s gaze snaps to the direct Lan Jingyi is pointing. There, stands a tall drink of water. A very, very tall drink of water. He takes a sip of his beer, mouth suddenly dry. “No way.” He says, shaking his head. “Can’t be.”
But then the stranger turns and Lan Sizhui sees that golden-eyed glare from across the crowded room and he knows. Deep in the pit of his stomach.
“Fuck me, that is Jin Ling,” whistles Lan Jingyi.
Lan Sizhui’s heart flutters in agreement.
Jin Ling is Big with a capital ‘B’ and Lan Sizhui is going to climb him like a tree.

Caitlyn was not normally a betting person. But things these days were hardly normal. And Vi sent Caitlyn’s usual level-headedness into a tailspin. Tossing her wits about until she couldn’t tell north from south. As if her focal point was now Vi and Vi alone. And she’d do anything to stay within orbit.
So no, Caitlyn was not normally a betting person. But tonight she was going all in.
“So, what’ll it be, man or woman?”

“This can not be happening,” said Lan Jingyi when he was finally able to lift his jaw up off the ground. “I can’t be witnessing this. This can’t be real.”
“Oh, Jingyi, don’t be so stuck up! I think it’s romantic.” Murmured Ouyang Zizhen, sighing wistfully as he dropped his head into his hands and stared starry-eyed over at the sect leader who was now only one wrongly-placed step away from toppling over the bar and breaking his haughty little neck.
“It’s not romantic!” Whisper-shouted Lan Jingyi, shooting a glance over at his companion as he bemoaned. “This isn’t one of your romance stories, Zizhen, this is Lan Sizhui and Jin Ling. It’s horrible! A flock-of-ravens-coming-down-and-scratching-out-your-eyes horrible! Rather suffer death-by-a-thousand-cuts level of horrible!”
Wei Wuxian takes the juniors out to celebrate and Jin Ling gets so drunk he confesses his feelings for Lan Sizhui, much to Lan Jingyi's dismay.
Or, after witnessing his friends fall in love, Lan Jingyi starts to question his own feelings for once.
