I catch her glaring at any and everyone as she stands apart from all the dancers, but her gaze is sharp enough to cut though the layers of lace and silk between us.
The memory of our last conversation is at the forefront of my mind, her clipped tone, her cool indifference. But I had meant only to tease her, to pull any feelings from her but it seemed I had only succeeded in making her hate me.The amount of life in her face or rather, the utter lack of it. Makes her seem almost corpse-like, despite her beauty. A statue carved too finely to be real, too remote to touch, but I can't seem to keep my eyes off her for too long. There is something simmering beneath her carefully blank expression, something I am drawn to despite myself, like a moth to a flame I have no hope of surviving.
