Martin had always been favored by the summer courts, and moving up north to the little village of Lacuna is a difficult adjustment. It's rainy and lonely and everyone seems to have a strange, distant relationship with the local faerie court.
However: there is a strange man in a cloak who walks past Martin's remote little cottage every few days.
However: there is a moth that keeps getting stuck in Martin's house during the rain.
These events are not as disconnected as they first appear.

Summary
"It occurs to me that - ah - I may have forgotten to mention something, earlier," says Jon, somewhat belatedly.
It also occurs to Jon that the traditional time to mention this particular detail would be before letting one's boyfriend shove his hand down one's pants for the first time, but, well. In his defense, he'd been so dreading the goddamn sex talk, and so relieved to finally have it out of the way, that discussing certain specifics of the act had somehow slipped his mind entirely.
"You think?" says Martin, in that particular tone of fond incredulity that Jon finds so reassuring. The tone that means 'you've done something ridiculous and I've decided to find it charming.'

Summary
Martin knows that, perhaps, it’s a bit silly to enjoy having a crush as much as he does. Especially when that crush is on his prickly, irritable boss. But he thinks maybe that’s why he likes it so much. There’s no expectation to act on his feelings, no late nights spent wondering when he’ll finally give in and say something.

Jon hadn’t anticipated just how quiet it would be at Daisy’s cottage. He definitely hadn’t anticipated how that quiet settles something inside of him, like balm on an injury he didn’t know he had. He’d thought the lack of human presence would make him more aware of the loss still sitting in the pit of his stomach, heavy and solid, but it’s … it’s nice to have the space to process things. To know that he’s currently alone by choice, not by happenstance, and that he has the freedom to just be. Jon lets the solitude envelop him like a weighted blanket, warm and comfortable and safe.
It’s a few days later when he first meets the man who pets the cows.

Following the loss of his grandmother, Jon takes a sabbatical and moves up to northern Scotland to stay in Daisy's cabin and study the religious culture of the village near it. There, he meets Martin, his apparent and unwanted neighbor who makes odd jokes and seems to exist solely to ruin Jon's attempts at finally getting some peace and quiet. But as Jon spends more time with Martin, he begins to warm up to him and, as time goes on, to fall in love with him.
It just takes him a bit to realize that the man he's fallen in love with is a god.

If you never read any other fic than this one thats fine. Please, please read this one. I cried quite literally the entire time (like tears spilling and no other body indicators. Just tears and sniffles. The whole fricking time). (Oh and full blown sobbing for a couple chapters)
Yall know i love my TMA humor so the fact that this captivated me so wholly is an indicator that this is a brilliant piece of writing.
