Summary
It's the summer of 2007, and teen Kara Danvers is visiting her cousin at Kent’s Farm and bored. Like, 'fifty shades of hay' bored. That is, until a certain sixteen-year-old MIT prodigy named Lena Luthor from next door also visits.
What follows is a series of increasingly chaotic, scientifically dubious, and absolutely brilliant inventions. Expect witty banter, fluff, teenage-angst and ridiculous science. With Kara's chaotic genius and Lena's cool logic, they're a perfect team. The only problems are Kara's super-secret, a meddling older brother, Lex, who is determined to bust Clark, and the strange, fluttery feeling in Kara's chest every time Lena smiles.

Summary
Kara’s struggling to find work. Lena’s struggling to find herself. When fate (with some help from Cat Grant) casts them into the same orbit they find themselves completely off-script, because while everyone knows about the sins of the father, they're somewhat less clear about the sins of one’s siblings. Throw into that an audience hungry for stories at the expense of fact, a showrunner with a plan nobody saw coming, and a co-star who steadfastly refuses to keep it in his pants, and you’ve got a tale so dramatic even the protagonists have noticed.

“There’s another driver retiring, actually.”
“The hot blonde you gave a ride to in my jet?” Sam says, raising an eyebrow.
“Sam!” Lena says, scandalized. “How do you know that?”
“Which thing?” Sam says, a sly smile on her face and the mischief evident in her voice. “And it looks to me like you’ve got a solution right in front of you, Lena.”
At that, Lena is confused. Sure, she’s got plenty of problems right now, but she doesn’t know what Kara has to do with any of that. “What?”
“Well, I figure you’ll need a driver to work with if you want to get back into things…” Sam says, gesturing vaguely with her fork.

Lena and Lex Luthor are on their way to becoming national champions of the American Rally Association, but things quickly fall apart following a major accident. Lena distances herself from Lex as he faces criminal charges, and she's faced with the prospect of retiring.
With Kara's major sponsors dropping out left and right, funds thin out quickly and she’s forced to let go of the sport she's loved for years, but Lena proposes an idea of a partnership that may very well rocket them towards the success they’ve both been racing after.

Well, that's not technically accurate… humanity's time on earth ended, a lot sooner than to be expected which is where the tragedy of it all lies, if Lena were to guess.
Not that Lena's own time on earth had ended. She was still here, pottering on, miles underground, fiddling with forgotten experiments and watching endless hours of television that she never had time for before…
