"What? Why not? I thought you said there wasn't any bad blood between you two?"
"There's isn't." Rin insists hoping Isagi drops it, but he keeps pressing.
"So why can't you just—"
"Because he just doesn't care about me anymore, Isagi." Rin snaps turning away and closing his eyes again as the words keep tumbling out of his mouth. "He doesn't love me, he doesn't want me around, and he certainly would rather get hit by a bus than admit to being related to me."
"What? Come on... " Isagi drawls out with a chuckle like he can't believe it. Like it's a joke. "Of course he does, I know I don't have any siblings, but from what I've gathered all siblings deep down really do care about each other, so what makes you the exception?"
Isagi says it so casually, like Rin hadn't spent the last year killing himself trying to find out.

Oh, so that was why they called him. Come to think of it, they just went back to school – of course, Rin’s birthday wouldn’t be that far away. Sae looked at the tablet and scrolled down, observing every toy displayed there and shook his head. That his parents didn’t know what Rin would want was far from surprising – it was no wonder that they needed Sae’s help.
“Is there something he likes that we don’t know about?”
Plenty. In the first place, Rin didn’t talk to anyone that wasn’t Sae so, of course, they wouldn’t know anything.
Or: Sae gets asked to chose a birthday present for Rin.
