Summary
Imogen Temult is a lone queer country music songwriter trying to make her way in the industry, but is more than burnt out after being rejected over and over again at every turn. She’s tired, anxious, and is all but ready to quit when she meets someone who changes her career forever.
Laudna Bradbury is a pianist in a barely-scraping by alt band that’s barely holding it together after their singer, Dorian, leaves to pursue a solo pop career. While they're (mostly) happy for him, and almost unanimously agree that his voice is much better suited for the sultry ballads he loves to sing over the grungy tones they’d been trying to pull from him, they can’t go on without a singer forever. So, each member of the Hells decides to hit various open mic nights around the city, hoping to find someone willing to sing with them for piss-poor money and fun, but questionable, company.
Band shenanigans, performance anxiety, and finding family in a group of misfits. And, of course, a bit of falling in love along the way.

Summary
Alt-rock band Menagerie, crashing and burning following the success of their first album and tour, recently cut from their contract with White Fang Records, and now out of a drummer, is in desperate need of a soft place to land. After being blacklisted from nearly every studio in Vale by Menagerie frontwoman Blake Belladonna’s abusive ex-boyfriend — and the band’s former A&R — Adam Taurus, they’re running out of options and running out of time. When they stumble upon Rose Thorn Studios, they never expect a new home, an endless river of inspiration, and their missing piece to be waiting within.
“They say music is the language of the universe,” Blake says softly. “Would you call me crazy if I said I can hear it singing?”
“No,” Yang answers. “I’ve heard it in your voice. Felt it in your hands. Burned it into my soul.
I’ve never heard a song so beautiful.”

Summary
"Mama, what's that on your arm?" A young Luz pointed to the string of words that covered her mother's forearm. Camila sighed and figured it was time for the infamous "talk" with her little Luz.
"Well, this here is called a soul tie. These marks are what tie you to the person you are meant to be with - your soulmate. They show up different for everyone, and some never get theirs at all. But some are born with the first words their soulmate speaks to them, some don't get theirs until their initial interaction with them, with their first words forever upon their skin past that point. Some have empathy marks - little things that the other has drawn on themselves show up on their skin, their bruises and scrapes are shared with their soulmate," Camila paused, glancing at the latest random bruise on her daughter's knee, and the little star on her thigh.
"This, my little one," she pointed to the words on her own forearm, "are the first words your father ever spoke to me." She smiled brightly, and Luz did, too. "And this, Luz, belongs to your soulmate," she brushed her fingers over the bruise on her knee, and poked the star on her thigh.

Summary
Imogen Temult is the Head Detective of The Liminal Agency, a company that on paper does not exist. For those parties that know, or are determined enough to find someone specializing in subconscious detective work, hers is the name they call.
Her latest case brings up a long standing conspiracy that had been buried before she’d come into this field, and is now rising to the surface as a slew of prominent murders are connected to a cruel couple, thought to be long gone.
At the center of it, someone from her past that has no memory of ever knowing her, who may be a pawn in someone else’s game if she doesn’t move fast enough.

Summary
There’s always a meetup beforehand, in some parking lot somewhere a good distance away. Imogen sighs heavily as she backs her precious ride into a spot at the 7/11 on Black Horse Pike for the time being, already seeing the crowd gathering around to take a look at her car. She feathers the throttle, the turbo spooling up just enough to be heard, tapping the brake once she’s a couple feet away from the bushes behind her, and throws the floor-mounted shifter into park.
Imogen hates crowds. It’s why she doesn’t go to car shows. Why she only does the required meetup before the money gets thrown down for winnings and bets.
Before the race begins.

all too often women tempered their instincts to allow themselves to become the soil underfoot rather than the sole of the shoe
so much as to say that Imogen does not care much if Laudna Bradbury had murdered her husband.
She cares more about what the words whispered and weaved and waded in the time after wrote:
Laudna Bradbury had used witchcraft to murder her husband.
