“Hey!” The lifeguard calls out, his voice firm. “You three boys! You run at my pool again and you’re banned for life! You hear me?” The boys don’t respond, but he just blows his whistle again, indicating that everyone can get back to what they were doing.
Steve puts his hands over his face in mortification. He closes his eyes and groans loudly, thinking about how much of a babysitting failure that was for him. His kids have never gotten yelled at in public before.
“Hey, those kids yours?” The same firm voice that yelled at his boys says. Steve opens one eye and then immediately closes it again to mentally prepare himself before opening both eyes. The lifeguard is standing right in front of him with no shirt on, smirking down at him. Steve has to peel his eyes away from his abs.
